I Just Went Over And Made A Contribution
I made it a generous one, for those Correntians who aren’t in a position to contribute that particular way. (My pension was protected by the fact that it was managed by my union, instead of by the corporations which control Hollywood.)
I would just like to point out that many more grassroots Democrats, those who identify themselves with the Democratic Party, have been in the forefront of the movement to save the FISA compromise on spying than have been grassroots conservatives or Republicans. And many more self-identified professional Democrats than conservatives or Republicans have stood up against the so-called new compromise that gutted the FISA court.
I also do not think that it is anywhere near a lost cause to get Obama to eventually come down on the side of accountability, especially if he is actually elected. Giving up on that is doing the work of the right wing. In a McCain presidency, you can be sure that all accountability will be filled in the dead letter file.
