As we all know, the Chimperor hit the lowest approval rating of his Presidency, bettering his daddy, matching Clinton Carter, and knock-knock-knocking on Nixonian (26% the day he resigned) levels.
Of course, Nixon didn't have Fox News misinformation.
Or Rush.
Or O'Reilly.
Or Scarborough.
Or Coulter.
I wonder if a statistician could control for those variables, and compare the level of anti-Bush sentiment heads up with Nixon.
Nixon, it should be remembered, accomplished a few things.
Environmental Protection Agency
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
OSHA
Supplemental Security Income
Normalized relations with China
Signed the ABM treaty
Détente with the Ruskies
Bush has done nothing. No really. Zip.
Worst and most reviled. Heckuva job, Bushie.

Dude, that's a brilliant point
With all that huge propaganda machine and billions of bucks pouring out 24-7 to bash the Democrats and cover his failures -- a machine the size and wealth and reach of which his predecessors could only have dreamed -- he's still in the cellar.
Maybe Worst.President.Ever isn't close enough to the mark any more.
On a related note, I think we're getting close to the point where we can put a rock bottom number on Lincoln's "...you can fool some of the people all of the time"...
Will it be 28%? Uh-uh. 25? Still seems too high. 20? Making the crazies just one-in-five instead of the one-in-three it looked like just a little while ago?
Hope so. At least.
WaPo and NYT, too.
Nixon never had the press's acquiescence to all his misuse of public office, either.
my comment to WaPo's "Assault on an Ally" at http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn...
is the sixth.
