Today, John McCain said this:
“There is only one man who should decide when to withdraw from Iraq and that is…”
The complete sentence appears below. Take a moment to think about how that sentence should end.
Then read on.
“There is only one man who should decide when to withdraw from Iraq and that is David Petraeus.”
Discuss.
NOTE: If McCain is planning for us to stay in Iraq for 100 years, does Petraeus leave a living/dying/killing will that says when we can leave, or will they be keeping his head in one of those “Futurama” jar thingies?

well, seeing as how we live in a pseudofascist
pseudomilitaristic (read: contractor) run kleptocracy, it makes sense. they have picked DP as their go to guy for all things on ’progress in iraq,’ anyone with a different opinion can be damned.
besides, so long as the “democratic controlled” congress signs off on as much money bush wants for his war, no questions asked, what’s the worry?
so mccain understands things perfectly, VL. would that he were wrong, and your post more in tune with our reality.
(and i’m not picking on you or disagreeing with your point.)
That is so offensive on so many levels
This is a DEMOCRACY and DP doesn’t get to spend trillions of $s and thousands of lives on his whim.
Not now, not ever.

And this is the Experienced Republican?
If McCain doesn’t realize that the military is under civilian control under the Constitution, then he is not qualified to be President. If he intends to abdicate his Constitutional role to military officers, then let’s buy him some bananas for his republic.
Hey, McCain!
Is that a military junta in your pants or are you just happy to see me?

correction
Correction: It’s “DemoCRAT controlled Congress” with “democrat” pronounced in the way the Mayor of Munchkinland would have phrased it in “The Wizard of Oz.” Glad to help.
Oh and by the Way
Oh and By the Way it just goes to show that no one can Do It like Bush can. When one plays McCain’s quote in one’s mind, it seems impossible to believe a serious candidate for POTUS could utter such a call for an abdication of presidential responsibility in the new Millenium. Not only can Bush speak it but he can make it National Policy without a general uproar.
