Pick Your Foley
Foley: A Foley catheter is a soft plastic or rubber tube that is inserted into the bladder to drain the urine. Urinary catheters are sometimes recommended as way to manage urinary incontinence and urinary retention in both men and women. There are several different types of catheters, which may be used for a variety of different reasons.

Drain the urine...
Foley: Of or pertaining to motion-picture sound effects or soundtracks: a Foley artist; the Foley editor.

Sound fx...
Foley: A Florida Congressman who used his position of power to satisfy his own sexual desires and fantasies.

Sweet nothings and ice cream, my dears...?
A Foley is a catheter, but also a Foley Artist is one who produces Sound Effects for film--lastly, a Foley is an old-fashioned Chickenhawk who fancies the tender flesh of newbies and soft cotton briefs. Protected by an inner-circle jerk battalion, with cross-humpings to Gannon & Hastert, this strange and tumescent Foley a Trois story has caused more furor than the thousands of armless and legless veterans returning to their native land, the battle-scarred men and women who gave up their flesh at the behest of our flesh merchants, each soldier the latest sacrifice on the pyre that was liberty and justice. They will carry the burden of their wounds their whole lives. And those are the ones who lived--be they Iraqis or Americans, death came to thousands of others: death with dollar signs and broken trumpets, and there are no curtain calls.
Do we all laugh at Mr. Foley, the Urine Drainer, the Sound Effective Love Detective? This Bumpty Humpty story gets the yukkity-yuks while men and women continue to come home in boxes draped with the death shrouds of our national, glorious flag. Very moving, very patriotic, very sad. The real monster in America does not IM DC pages: the Real Monster sends more of our youth out to kill and be killed in the Lands of Oil far, far away. Would that a buggering Congressman were indeed the worst of the current benighted class of conservatives.

This somewhat scattered post came about as a result of speaking with fellow bloggers at our gathering last Saturday--the irony of all the brouhaha about
Foley in comparison to the horrors of war, horrors that have not moved our legislators to end our occupation of Iraq, is front and center for those who refuse to live in the dark any longer.
