First Class Snarking by BTD
on the timing of the Gore endorsement:
Heh.
MI and the RBC decision
Won’t the endorsement from Gore, of all people, in Michigan provide an easy set-up for the right to claim the Democrats are truly hypocrites about Election 2000? I mean, even Bush didn’t claim Gore’s votes and delegates as his.
I fully understand that, of course, Gore would support the Democratic nominee, but to do it in MI seems like a mistake. I fear it’ll be used to further highlight the RBC decision.
Shows Obama Remains Concerned About Michigan, IMO
I’m glad to see him trying to win voters there. As I’ve said, I think he’s the one who needs to do the work and, at least where MI is concerned, he’s trying to.
But what the DNC did and his own actions, including taking his name off the ballot, have created a problem in a critical state that didn’t need to be created. It’s one of the reasons why I was wailing against the FL/MI bullshit. Acting like voters don’t exist in a primary when those same voters get to cast votes in the general is stupid. You can talk about (or more accurately lie about) the rules and pledged delegates all you want, but the GE isn’t going to be decided under DNC rules or with Democratic pledged delegates.
And why, of all months, in June?
Ten days after the anniversary of when RFK was, um, given a basket of warm kittens.
It's official.
There’s no point in wasting further time or effort on trying to save a political party that is intent on suicide. I don’t have the strength or the inclination to fight it any longer.
I’ve enjoyed reading the great writers here, and I’ve learned a lot. It’s a pity your sensibilities aren’t shared by more of the party, but it is apparent to me that nothing you or I can say or do will prevent what will happen next, so I take my leave from you wishing the best to all of you. I’m outta here.
Of Ratfucking.

Snark at your own risk.
he's not working at all-
an appearance w/Gore is not winning voters.
Al Gore Can Stuff It….
How can you save the planet if you can’t even maintain your own reputation, Al?? (to echo Michelle Obama…

I guess that letter from the DSCC/Gore on June 3 told the tale after all…
The Interesting Thing To Me
Is how long Gore waited. Remember all those breathless blog reports about how he was going to end the campaign and endorse any minute. Instead, he does it later than most. More importantly, he waited until the votes were all cast.
it was just on--
he ran down a laundry list of things, but never once said “and Obama will fix it/do it”—only when it came to inspiring young people to get involved did he do it—but not on one single issue—and Gore listed tons of them.
(also, MSNBC ran Gore speaking but not Obama—and it was another big rally—like Edwards and the CA Oprah/Kennedy/etc thing)
oh, and Gore mentioned small donors but they just had a
bigmoney fundraiser in Detroit right before the rally—ugh.
call me a cynic....
but this is actually a gore move to make him a viable alternative to Obama and Clinton at a brokered convention.
You can’t be the guy who unifies the Party unless you have been part of the ’unity’ movement already. The Obots would never accept a “consensus” candidate who hadn’t endorsed Dear Leader — and so Gore did what he had to do….
That's not a cynic...
… that’s an optimist.
A brokered convention?
but this is actually a gore move to make him a viable alternative to Obama and Clinton at a brokered convention.
How ya gonna have a brokered convention when Howard Dean isn’t even going to allow Hillary’s name to be put in nomination?
I don't think he can stop it, acutally...
How ya gonna have a brokered convention when Howard Dean isn’t even going to allow Hillary’s name to be put in nomination?
under party rules, nominations have to be opened, and can’t be closed until all nominations have been offered.
What Dean actually is trying to do is prevent a roll call vote — he wants Obama to be nominated by acclamation, rather than expose just how popular Clinton was in all the key states… I mean, the party will look pretty stupid when its shown that Obama lost California, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Florida, Michigan, etc, etc. but had big numbers out of Idaho.
Gore waited for Vastleft's endorsement
Heh, heh!
Actually, I’m sure it was the “stern letters” he got from Pelosi and Reid.
SNORT!!!!
