Al Gore presents "An Inconvenient Truth" in L.A.

I had a bit of fun this evening. Al Gore was in town to present “An Inconvenient Truth” in L.A. today. He apparently did a Q&A at the Arclight—which I missed—but he then went to introduce the open-air, free screening at the California Plaza in downtown. We were also treated to a few songs by Jon Bon Jovi, and Mayor Villaraigosa said a few words as well.

The plaza was packed for Al Gore. Standing room only, including on the upper balconies. Some people tried to start up a “run, Al, run” chant, but it didn’t quite take on.

After Gore stopped speaking, lots of people left before the movie actually started playing—probably because they’ve seen it before. I myself didn’t stay through the whole thing (I’ve seen it already as well)—I went to go get some dinner with some fellow bloggers.

Fun times nonetheless. The message needs more traction and more distribution.
