A blog (from "web blog") is a discussion or informational site consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed newest first. All Corrente posts are front-paged; there is no up-rate or down-rate process. Corrente posts are almost entirely community moderated. We encourage a clash of ideas, and do not encourage a clash of persons.

1. Vote for Martha Coakley! She's successfully sued Goldman Sachs, is for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, is for marriage equality, and strongly supports a woman's right to choose!
2. But -- she's running as a self-avowed progressive Democrat, and Obama's a timid effing centrist!!
I understand the argument, I just don't agree with it. To what VL says, I'd add the trip to DC for Big Pharma funding immediately before the election. That's why I, among others, discounted the avowals (after being initially very willing). And on HCR, we were 100% correct to discount all avowals, including and up to the progressive baseline Kucinich.
If she had run as the AG who clawed back $70 million (or whatever) from Golden Sacks and stuck with it....
Doesn't mean you can't still vote for a truly lib/prog Dem. But maybe, just maybe, lots of Dems deregistering as D and signing up as Independent, might, just might, send a message from which the party toffs would get a glimmer of understanding. Or not.

funniest one yet
no where have I seen it put so succinctly
It's great. and in a similar vein--
How about:
1. Vote for Martha Coakley! She's successfully sued Goldman Sachs, is for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, is for marriage equality, and strongly supports a woman's right to choose!
1. And?
2. (shrugs) Yes, exactly.
Well, she supports a woman's right to choose...
... except when neo-con (and not timid about it) Obama demands otherwise.
That's the thing...
