Not saying that there are no real problems -- even if Hank Paulson can't, or won't, explain what they are and how giving him a trillion dollars will solve them -- just that NOW NOW NOW is really part of the problem.
Or, rather, the people screaming it are.
One day at a time works in a lot of situations just fine.

Did some checking on the DJIA in the past
On Nov 7th, 2000 (election day) the DJIA opened at 10,964. It's flirting with that level now. If it opens below that on election day 2008, I believe Bush will be the first 2 term president where the Dow was higher when he was (s)elected than when his replacement was elected.
