Annals of career "progressive" idiocy

Chris "Not a Full Win" Bowers never, never disappoints:

Now, the progressive blogosphere is almost entirely professionalized, and inextricably linked to existing media companies and advocacy organizations.

[The amateur progressive blogosphere] was a transitional period into a new media and political paradigm, not a new paradigm unto itself.

What's new about the paradigm, or the professionalization?*

Mr. Bowers' Profession sounds like a very old one, to me. Perhaps, in fact, the oldest one. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

NOTE DCBlogger posted on this, as well, but DCB is a much nicer person than I am.

UPDATE I love the way that Bowers, having climbed the greasy pole, now attempts to pull the pole up after him. You already "suck too hard," Chris. But then, you knew that.

UPDATE * Alert reader gob reminds me in comments to add the disclaimer that Versailles denizens like Bowers not only sell themselves, but sell out others, too (as Bowers did by imposing a news blackout on single payer advocates, no doubt, as we may infer from today's post, to protect his revenue streams. Ian Welsh explains the economics of this behavior.) So, it is, in fact, insulting to prostitutes to compare Bowers to them. My bad.

Wherever you stand in the dispute over the nature of prostitutes' "choice", they are not in the business of selling out other peoples' welfare.

Fixed, I hope.

Actually, you make a very serious moral argument that can't be repeated too often.
