Anybody got a U-Tube of Hillary in Scranton?

"This election is too important to sit on the sidelines of history," said the former first lady, calling on her legions of working class and women voters to take up the banner of the man who beat her.

"It took a Democratic president to clean up after the last president Bush, it's going to take a Democratic president to clean up after this President Bush," Clinton said in a working-class corner of swing-state Pennsylvania.

"Make no mistake about it. We've done it before and we'll do it again. America will once again rise from the ashes of the Bushes."

I'm stealing this quote from KOS, but I really want to hear her say it (and yeah, I want to replay it!)

The Clintons and Biden were apparently on fire during campaign appearances earlier today.

This audience reaction made me smile:
Nurse Virginia Moench, from Lehighton, just outside Scranton, said she was supporting the Democratic ticket because of its stand on the economy.

"I feel as though Obama and Biden have been very focused on the economy. I think McCain has been improvisational.

"He used very poor judgment in picking Palin, and Obama showed wonderful judgment in picking someone like Joe Biden."

Make sure they also have the rear view camera angles

so you can see the stick they have shoved up hers.

I understand Hil focused on how aligned her HOLC position and Obama's not so HOLC positions were; even though, you know, they didn't look aligned. Just like the stick, it was an optical illusion. And McCain was so...improvised. Obama and Biden focused...like sunbeams on the economy - bringing hope to the huddled, bankrupt, and starving masses.

Saw This On C-Span

But only the part where Hillary spoke. She was hitting on all cylinders. I couldn't help but notice how far she's come as a campaigner. She use to have a hard time convincingly slipping into local venacular, but she does it with ease, now. She also seemed to legitimately enjoying herself, this time, which is always good to see. Bill, as usual and as he should be if you ask me, seemed to be out of his body, if that makes sense.

What struck me as very odd was that immediately afterwords when she was finished and Biden came up to the podium, he's grinning from ear-to-ear, pulls her uncomfortable close to himself, and then wraps his arm around her shoulder with both facing the crowd and continues to pull her closer. By the end, you could see her faking a smile, but visibly uncomfortable. Hope someone has the video.

But Obama said he's post-partisan, not a Democrat

And that we couldn't return to the days of the Clintons because they were hysterically "partisan" and "divisive" (i.e. they were effective).

We are so fucked with Obama/Biden. Goddamn.

Hilary's sincerity

is so horribly out of place in this twisted carnival. Racist Bill - almost saintly these days; having committed his life to helping others on a mass scale and succeeding - has an aura of implacability.

Karma is real, and not just a bitch. It will catch up. For all of us - for better and for worse.

First, it's not the first time she's said it

It was part of her campaign stump speech.
Secondly, she never says it is Obama who is needed to clean up after Bush. She just says a Democratic president in general.
Thirdly, if you turn off your TV and only watch Palin's actual campaign appearances and debate performance, it becomes clear why McCain chose her. She's been portrayed as a bimbo governor from a hick state. But outside of the media filter, she actually looks like a quick study with a sharp political EQ. You might not like what she stands for but that doesn't mean she's not a gifted politician.

Come together at The Confluence

I'm Not Sure...

how many more times, and in how many more ways, she has to say that she's for an Obama win for some to get it, but she is. I think one can debate all day her reasons for supporting him, but if it wasn't clear earlier on, it is more than clear, now, that she sees an Obama win helping her more than a McCain win.

If the DNC was where my bread was buttered

I'd be "for" obama too.

Luckily, I'm just a voter - I don't owe any allegiance to the DNC or obama.

To get my support, candidates have to support causes and positions I am interested in and actually DO the work they say they will. Bummer.

Too bad candidates need to be on TV these days

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln...

Goldberry, why would you even bring Palin into this thread when the post is about Hillary? Who said anything about Palin?
