Can you explain this series and its relationship to
the series Simple Answers to Simple Questions?
Blatant plagiarism? ;)

a little over the top?
"A couple of thoughts going in, and I admit the first is probably only me being a little over the top as a journalist trained in and committed to a belief that our first job is to confirm information before we present it as true to the public."
Z on TV: the Baltimore Sun's David Zurawik on who's going to appear on the show (Palin?)
Thanks, David, we like the standard of confirming information before it's presented as true to the public. But that's just us at Correntewire.
so far
it's fey not palin
now Palin
Alec Baldwin telling Palin directly his complaints--"that horrible woman"
Baldwin "mistook" Palin for Fey
and said he didn't want Tina even playing that horrible woman.
then he gives the obligatory
comment on her hotness, yuck.
How do people blog and watch at the same time?
Much less watch sports too?
Lots of celeb cameos
around Palin...
Quick take away: Ummmm...
No wonder people pre-write these
If this is the only time Palin appears, I'm not very impressed with the SNL debate (really a press conference) skit. Her appearance was brief and all about her being a good sport while people made fun of her and said bad things about her--although Baldwin making nice felt kinda weird in view of what he's said, for example: "Palin is Bush...Palin looks a lot like a really attractive TV star I know. Underneath all the Tina, she's George." And then he goes on SNL (remember he's not SNL staff) and complains about her kinda lamely and then lavishly compliments her, takes her arm and goes off with her? Is that a Village
happy ending or what?
Debate?
Was it ever promoted as a debate? I don't remember hearing that. Anyway, the appearance was awkward. Palin saying that "Stephen is her favorite Baldwin" and then Alec remarking about how much hotter she is in person. Mark Wahlberg makes an appearance during the skit. Palin's just standing there awkwardly as Lorne and Mark talk amongst themselves.
Lame. Weird.
The only good part was when Alec runs in whispering to Tina and Tina says "the real one?"
But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...
Having had a few minutes to absorb it
Quick, someone tell me the Village
"novel" about this!!
SNL played Palin's scripted criticism of Fey's impersonation as 'not substantive enough' for laughs. But it's certainly true that Fey would be funnier if she wrote her own lines based on the...
whoa Palin on again
Well that was one of the more surreal performances I've ever
seen on SNL...
Palin appeared on Weekend Update and decided "not to do" a piece they had prepared for her, so Poehler did it.
It was a rap with a moose, Eskimos and snow falling
with Poehler doing Palin's part...
Of course they also
shot the moose, had a fake Todd Palin appear in a snow mobile suit, and criticized McCain in the rap--his smile anyway.
Poehler was really good.
Palin was sitting down, grooving along
at the end she like half applauded and then gave this shake of her head with a half smile. Wow the real VP candidate was there during the rap.
Definite coolness points.
You can watch it now at NBC.com, they just said.
The Village is messaging me

chrisdejabet I thought the Sarah Palin spot on SNL would be more humorous. Was just Amy Poehler doing a very awful rap. less than 10 seconds ago ...

Sarah Palin On SNL With Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Mark Wahlberg (VIDEO)
That rap was crap. Again, Palin could have phoned her appearance in. She really served no purpose by being on SNL tonight. ...

(wait, did they pre-write this? The rap was less than 28 min. ago...I'll see if I can check.)
The skit was better than the opening...
But not nearly by enough to call it a success. It's not going to hurt her, but it's not going to help her, either.
But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...
Did you like the rap?
I thought they pulled it off.
I thought it was funny.
And there is definitely something to be said for having a sense of humor and being able to laugh at yourself. I think the person who thought the rap was bad missed the point -- Palin was sitting right there listening to a send-up of her entire, very brief political career -- and they didn't leave much out.
"McCain got experience, McCain got style, but don't let him freak you out when he tries to smile. That smile be creepy, but when I'm VP, all the leaders of the world gonna finally meet me"
"When I say "Obama" you say "Ayers" Obama/Ayers, Obama/Ayers. I built me a bridge, it ain't goin nowhere"
I say funny.
I only saw
the last skit, because of THE GAME, but the scene was a duplicate of her performance as VP in the debates, totally rote.
Hey we live bloggers can watch sports and blog
Remember Toobin was it got caught doing that during one of the debates?
Funny, just funny N/T
N/T
You think being on SNL during a live rap with falling snow
and back-up singing Eskimos is the same as being in a debate with Joe Biden?
how was Adele?
i love her music : >
CNN just showed a tiny clip of the press conf thing--stupid.
Adele was good
She was solid, I thought, showed her voice. Although it's better than it once was, that whole limited sound stage/can't hear problem, remember?--listening live at SNL you still lose some of the depth--but she was good, one of the better performances.
cool--
i'll have to search youtube later to see her
her voice is wonderful--i bet even acapella she's good. (she has that resonance thing, like other bigger women)
if she plays her career right, she could be around a long time--like Alison Moyet.
Nothing on CNN about
the rap?
Did they use the SNL press conference to pick on Palin? There was commentary last night about that at various sites.
Our world: the entertainment news is the news--and was it about the fictional press conference, the content of the skit? Don't get me wrong, I think it's important--and SNL's fictional, satirical content has helped drive the criticism of the campaigns in some good ways--but celebrity cameos didn't used to be the 'breaking news' which was reserved for, uh, I dunno--real life? Are we on the cutting edge of the news then--first time live blogging both skits? Heh.
nothing so far--
they didn't even comment--just showed a tiny bit of the press conf, with Baldwin whispering and then the hand-off.
i think MSNBO won't let other networks show long clips--they'll be showing it all endlessly probably all week.
