Are all Republicans thieves, or only some of them?

WaPo:

The former treasurer for the National Republican Congressional Committee transferred as much as $1 million in committee funds into his personal and business accounts, officials announced today, describing a scheme that could prove to be one of the largest campaign frauds in recent history.

For at least four years, Christopher J. Ward, who is under investigation by the FBI, used wire transfers [Hmmm… cash!] to funnel money out of the NRCC and into other political committees he controlled, then shifted the funds into his own personal accounts, the committee said.

“The evidence we have today indicated we have been deceived and betrayed for a number of years by a highly respected and trusted individual,” said Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), NRCC chairman.

Well, now you know how we feel, Tom!

Deceived.

And betrayed.

For a number of years.

By a highly ….

Er…

respected

Um…

and trusted….

I can’t go on. But the deceived and betrayed part? That’s right on.

And to think...

… of all the good that money was intended to do!

Noooooooooooo.............

………………………not all Republicans are thieves but those that are not are perverts…as the numerous ’Man on boy’ tales which figure them demonstrate.

ps I do hope ’pervert’ is still considered acceptable usage….If not I will accept submittals for a replacement noun.

Ellipses have three dots, not two, or an infinite number

Since we just got done clobbering Joe Basic over that such .. things, AC, it would be …………….. unfair…….. not to clobber you!

Lambert, should we choose a style guide?

I like AP (years of habit) and Strunk & White, myself; I know Chicago Manual, too, though. Do we want to choose one and set up a link to prevent this sort of stuff from repeating?

Anything is good...

But really, I don’t think people would read them. But if you find some links, maybe we could put them in the sidebar. Who knows? At least it would be on the record.

I think what this is, is BBS-style stuff creeping in here. Ick.

i missed the infestation of Ellipsism here

i think style manuals and strict adherence to rules are overrated things. spelling is hard for me, and dyslexia makes other stuff ever tougher, on a bad day. also, i don’t forget that across all history, great minds have been bending and changing ’the rules’ to make writing more interesting. just as they have made lots of ’mistakes’ which are today codified into the standard.

there’s this hilarious sumerian text about mean old grammar teachers in school, beating on the poor jr scribes for their poor cunieform. la plus ca, and all that…

BTW, your WaPo link, she no work
