I sure God am. Or am I being overly sensitive to these two headlines in Pravda
on the Potomac and Izvestia
on the Hudson (respectively)? Regarding Bush's worthless presser:

And if Bush isn't "firm," He's "potent," "strong," and “stands up" for America. Subtext, anyone? Overcompensate much?
I mean, come on. Check out this picture from in Cleveland the other day:

Say no more! Say no more!
Let's remember, though, that it's the editors who write the headlines, not the reporters--don't you wish you were blogging, guys?--so these pathetic little narratives that Bush is a strong, fatherly protector, as signified by the size of his manly member, are all theirs.
The editors also, of course, determine story placement and story assignments, and are even more well-paid, and much closer to the King, than the reporters are. Yes, we don't see the editors names over the stories, and the editors tend not to go on the teebee and shout for money, but real power has its compensations, n'est c'est pas?
But the editors are well hidden away.
How can we get at them? There has to be a better way than mau-mauing the flak catchers, like the Public Editor, or the reporters.

Surges? Shakes Hands with the Governor? Pulls the Goalie?
Did someone say compensate:
Firm.
Stands Firm
Shakes hands with the governor

Potemkin Photos
You've said about all there is to be said and the Huffpost filled in most of the rest.
I'd just like to point out that while in Cleveland, Bush got the obligatory military photo op with the 172nd Airlift Wing (posted on Huffpost) in front of their C-17 aircraft.
What they don't say is that:
1/The 172nd is based in Jackson, Mississippi "pride of the South"
2/The only reason that plane and that crew is there is because they were used to fly the Secret Service's cars, and the White House's communication equipment necessary for a Presidential visit in to Cleveland. Without the President, that crew wouldn't be in Cleveland.
The way I see it
It's not Bush's dick, it belongs to the 172nd. Captain Dubya, having been cut off from his Viagra, is begging the airmen to see if he can borrow it for a while...
