As the Junk Piles Up

Fess up, geek. Sometime, somewhere in your life, there was last year’s machine, sitting in some closet or basement, gathering dust as you got over your proud (however quiet) assertion in your own mind that you’d “rebuild” or “fix” it. There may even be the Uncorrect among you, who have thrown away computers and parts into improper and illegal dumpsites. Well, time to atone for those sins.

I bet you already know this, as you’re reading this blog. Just as I’m betting that a lot of the information here is good. I’m no expert, but there has to be something to the minitrend here; I really like independent, small community refurb shops. The radical in me rather salivates at it…but anyway, it’s a good thing to do with that ibook you got trading some Magic cards, or that Dell that died on you just as Aunt Millie got you a shiny new HP laptop. Recycling is a really good word to think about right now, especially when considering what will prove to be the rather rich resource that is the humble motherboard.
