Be there for single payer July 30th!

I hope and expect many single payer activists will be in DC for the HCAN event this week, but even better, the Leadership Conference for Guaranteed Health Care is organizing a DC rally on Thursday, July 30th. And I can go! If nobody else in my family decides to go to the hospital! We're organizing a bus - if you live in a largish city not too far from DC someone is almost surely doing the same for you.

Celebrate Medicare’s 44th Birthday by showing Congress and President Obama the people, unions, doctors, nurses, seniors, faith groups, and Americans of every stripe support a single-payer system.

As President Obama says, “We must build on what works and leave out what doesn’t.” Medicare has successfully provided care to seniors and people with disabilities for almost half a century. Medicare is a truly American-made system that other health care systems around the world have since been modeled after. With little over 3% administrative overhead, we must look to this American solution to our health care crisis.

Heh. Back at ya there, "frame" definers.

(It'll be interesting to see how this week's HCAN event plays out - I hope somebody here can go and report back. One of our local activists is going and said (if I remember correctly) that actually most of the people he knows who are going are for single payer if they are informed enough to know what it is.)

cool!

bring back pictures!

also nice to hear that single payer advocates are co-opting hcan's rally as well as ofa's house parties. and remember, ofa's national day of health care service is this saturday, june 27. i think a suitable service would be educating people about single payer.
