Cat therapy. This is my Maine coon "Tootsie". If you check out her paws, you'll see she is "polydactyl". The Maine coon is the "State Cat" of Maine, where it developed as a "natural breed", without the help of crazed cat breeders. Read below the fold...
Lambert is an unusual host, because he encourages all sorts of far-flung "stuff". And, having asked about doing silly kitty posts (therapy), he said "we need more kitties". Or something like that.
I noted that Hugh posted his recent Jobs Report, here.. I have a lot of "cat jobs" to discuss, thanks to input from Corrente readers. However, as luck would have it, I happened upon a job opportunity for humans- Confuse-a-cat

OH DEAR!
Ms. Cat just brought in a baby sparrow! I think it's what is called a fledgling, but not sure. Baby seems okay, so far, but what to do now? I found a dropper and have been giving it water.
Course it would be obvious to look on the internet, but time is short! Read below the fold...

Awesome women!
Awesome women!
Back story: Where I live there are few radio options, thematically at least. Christian Apocalyptic Radio, Right Wing Hate Radio, and NPR. I mean for talk and news, not music. I finally gave up on NPR. Any questions about that decision?
I finally turned to Sports Talk Radio, and haven't looked back. That's how I learned that today, June 23, is the 40th anniversary of Title IX. From wiki:
Thanks to the wonder of Corrente Mail, I was having a conversation with Hipparchia earlier this evening.
As part of a long exchange, I said this: ~I have bought just about everything I need except shoes, socks and underwear at VV (local thrift store chain) over the past 20 years, and if not for that I would be in a load of debt for the necessities- I mean household items, books and clothing. ~
Hipp said: (I hope you don't mind being quoted w/o permission, Hipp) ~and yes, books ARE a necessity!~ Read below the fold...
"If cats don't come and sit on your head demanding their food, where would they get their exercise?"
It was such an acute and hilarious take on catitude that it stuck in my mind.
Here's one answer for Hugh- Tootsie, my Maine coon rescue cat, gets her exercise rolling around on the sidewalk outside my condo. Though she rests a lot too. Read below the fold...
[Let's save Valley Girl $3600 bucks and get her car fixed, too. --lambert]
This deviates a bit from Lambert's "Common Household Remedies request" approach, because it's a car issue. But all ideas appreciated. Let me add that I always find the CHR threads fascinating. No reflection on other threads, which are immensely more valuable as to our national state, but the CHR threads are a soothing change of pace, I find. I mean, we all have very local practical issues to deal with, apart from politics. Story to follow. Read below the fold...

Above is a twitter hashtag. Apologies if this has been posted here, in which case I missed it... mea culpa. It's going viral.... if that is correct use of term.

Eight wonderful Maine coon kitties. *Cat version of Plantidote*
Oh, I found this a while back, and at that time I was into "guess the gender of the Maine coon kitty" on my kitty blog. If anyone wants to play, have fun!
