While they're at it...

Just for fun, the administration should change its story to "No, not at sea, we buried him in the desert."

Then watch the bipartisan summary-execution fans scramble to say, "It's an honest mistake. Didn't you ever hear of a mirage?" and "Maybe it was an oasis!" Read below the fold...

Obama promised to bring America together...

... and it's mission accomplished!

We are united in lack of concern for facts, legality, and morality.

Please be sure to keep up on the latest version of the OBL kill story

Any concerns you might have about inaccuracies (or questionable actions) in the evolving official story are, of course, sure signs that you're a racist or a "deather" conspiracy nut (and probably both).

Anyway, here's the latest version. It's all true, just like the last one was, until it wasn't. Read below the fold...

The tenor of the immediate reaction to news that U.S. forces have killed Bin Laden shows an America deeply thirsty for closure not only for the 9/11 attacks but for other miseries and fears of the early 21st century.

On social networks, one sees platitudes implying or outright stating that everything America has done in the wake of 9/11 has been worth it. It's being hailed as a triumph by and for Bushists and Obamists alike. The zeitgeist seems to be "It's all good. USA, USA!" We're all jingoists today. Read below the fold...

Tragic single-payer post among top-rated at DU

Here.

Still, it was well worth it for well-connected "progressives" to capitalize on pushing the "public option" canard and to ignore the brave work of doctors, nurses, and ordinary citizens getting arrested for trying to get a plan on the table that would save lives and money. They're the best and brightest of the blogosphere, after all, and therefore beyond reproach. Read below the fold...

Judge, jury, torturer, Nobel Laureate

Obama sez Bradley Manning is guilty.

I guess that simplifies his War on Whistleblowers....

Let's donate some money to him, promise him our votes, and sing a mildly chastising song to him. Read below the fold...

If only the czar had a backbone!

Steve Cohen:

"Time for the President to Demonstrate the Courage of His Convictions"

Say it with me, "What convictions?"

President Obama overplayed his hand and did not respond effectively to both legitimate and unwarranted attacks on his policies and his leadership.

Presumably this means that Obama was too aggressive with his well-intentioned presidentin'.

Reluction. Noun. Ostensibly reluctant yet unyielding support for a politician's reelection.

Example: "Historians recall the 2012 presidential campaign as an absolute orgy of reluction, especially in the progressive blogosphere." Read below the fold...
