Single Payer Sit In Draws Local Media Coverage

A sit in at Humana Headquarters has gotten local media coverage.

It was actually one of the top stories, as building security allowed the protesters to remain inside after the building was locked.

Here's the video.

I didn't get to see the full story, only the recap at the end of the hour. But, this isn't the first single payer activism in my neck of the woods, but this is the first time I've observed any media coverage.

Progress!

Et tu, Vanity Fair?

*Obligatory Sarah Palin Disclaimer: I did not want the women to be elected VP. She was horridly unqualified(like our current Pres), and proposed truly odious policies. That stance however does not mean I will tolerate blatant sexist trashing of her.

Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it a secret—nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant. She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him. That way, she said, Bristol and I didn’t have to worry about anything.

So sayeth Levi Johnston, Sarah Palin's erstwhile future son-in-law. This above anecdote, related by Johnston in this month's Vanity Fair, may or may not be true*.

And what input to the misogynistic homophobic religious zealots want to give Obama

How about "abortion reduction"?

First of all, if you were truly concerned about abortion reduction, you shouldn't have sacrificed women's healthcare, on the altar of bipartisanship!

A Post In Which I Reward Good Behavior

Organizing resolutions for the 111th Congress were passed today.

In a stunning move Harry Reid, actually wins one for the Dems!

In a totally predictable asshole move, Sen Minority Leader Mitch McConnell attempted to prevent the Dems from reaping some ass kicking elections gains. Since the Dems won 59 seats this past election, it entitles them to a 3 seat majority on most Committees.

Danger!!

I just got attacked by some Trojans while on Corrente. I didn't have any other internet applications open at the time, so it had to come through here.

I just wanted to send lambert a heads up about it.

And this isn't supposed to be on the front page, but this system doesn't like me.

Fatal Error

Every time I try to click on the Elizabeth Warren post, I get this message

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare timer_start() (previously declared in /home/lambert/public_html/includes/bootstrap.inc:142) in /home/lambert/public_html/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 148

Start a Group

How do we start a group. The "adult" section suggestion was met with enthusiasm, well by some at least.

Hipparchia like the idea of Xorrente. If anyone objects, we can change it.

N-Eways, how do we start it. Can only you or other Senior Fellows create a group, or is that something all members can?

Also, I can't find the "Publishing Options" so this won't go to the Front page.

My other problems seem to have been solved. thanks so much!!

More typical behavior from the Bush Administration

More typical behavior from the Bush Administration.

In retaliation for Scott McClellan's new saucy tell all book, which he is now pimping*.

I like this part.

Fox News contributor and former White House adviser Karl Rove said on that network Tuesday that the excerpts from the book he's read sound more like they were written by a "left-wing logger" than his former colleague.

Messengers. They shoot them.

"They're saying some of the exact same things about McClellan they said about me."

-- Richard Clarke, former White House counterterrorism chief. (emphasis added)

Bush Opens Mouth, Stupidity Falls Out

Bush opened his mouth today before the Israeli Knesset, and said this little gem:

Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: "Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided." We have an obligation to call this what it is – the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.

Where do(did) your kids go to school?

For my mere support of Hillary Clinton, I have been called a racist, more times than I can count. One of the refuges I have found in this crazy blogosphere, has been Anglachel's Journal.

In her post today, she touches on a subject very close to me.

Principles

The topic of WTDAMAF?(What To Do About Michigan And Florida?) has been discussed ad naseum , and I'm not trying to rehash them out here. But one argument that is always brought up, by someone supporting Obama, is that Clinton's entire stance is politically motivated. But, that is as that may be. The underlying point to me is that Obama is not. Period. End of discussion.

The right to vote is fundamental to democracy. Any candidate who can not stand up for that principle, in a primary, does not deserve my vote in that primary.
