He Didn't Get Away After All

If you recall, I wrote about this in February.

Apparently I spoke too soon.

A university committee has reviewed the allegations and contended he committed major plagiarism. There is now a recommendation on the table at the University of Cincinnati that Tolzmann be fired. Read below the fold...

Moscow in Flames. Missiles Headed to New York. Film at 11.

Is it my imagination or is the administration's scare-o-matic in overdrive these days?

I think the song goes something like this: Read below the fold...

Welcome to Reality -- What kept you?

Departments:

You'll like the headline to this story: "Analysis: Bush Mideast Stance May Flop."

Oh, so now they tell me the Bush Mideast policy is a disaster!

What was it before tonight? Read below the fold...

What, do you think Glenn reads these things?

I'm following the thing between Josh Marshall and Insty today.

I think it's interesting that Josh says that Insty is misrepresenting him. It's actually worse than that. Insty's always been too lazy to read any of the stuff he links to. Read below the fold...

The Hellhole That We Created

Departments:

Death squads running rampant?

A population terrified and on the run?

6,000 civilians killed by those same death squads in the last two months?

What an effing disaster we've created in Iraq. Read below the fold...

Glenn on Glenn

I often think I should write something about how Insty has just become a whack job these days. (Not that I'm sure he hasn't always been a whack job, he just did a better job of pretending he wasn't.) Read below the fold...

Mexican Election

Has anyone else been following the Mexican Election saga?

Doesn't it look extremely fishy for the ruling party's candidate to win in a country that has had numerous presidential elections stolen over the last few decades? Read below the fold...

Exit Bobby the Bearcat

In the spirit of full disclosure, the story I'm writing about in this post is about one of my department's most successful alums, Jacob DiPietre. I have nothing personal against this fellow, although he apparently is an exceedingly nasty campaigner and I certainly don't agree with his politics. Read below the fold...

Jack Burkman, Attorney

I assume you've all heard the stuff about GOP bloviator Jack Burkman trying to solicit the young women by now.

If not, go here. Read below the fold...

Foolhardiness

I was listening to John King describe Bush's visit to Baghdad this morning. It was the usual "I got to go and it was cool man really cool" sort of thing.

But he goes on to recount how the helicopters had to fly really low and at high speed to get to green zone (and it was cool man really cool) safely. He describes the machine gunners on the helicopters swiveling around the entire way. Read below the fold...

All this good news

Boy, are W and the boys furiously trying to save themselves or what?

The news: Al-Zarqawi killed, Rove cleared (for now), and Bush makes a surprise visit to Iraq.

And, despite all this news, I bet his poll numbers barely move. Heck they may even drop. Read below the fold...

When do we find out about the voicedata mining?

As I said last year:

I think for sure there’s something else going on here. My guess is they’ve done a helluva lot more than they’re admitting to and it will take quite an investigation to uncover it.

And now the NSA has effectively stopped that investigation. Read below the fold...

The Truth is Out There

WASHINGTON - The government has abruptly ended an inquiry into the warrantless eavesdropping program because the National Security Agency refused to grant Justice Department lawyers the necessary security clearance to probe the matter.

31% Approval:

WASHINGTON — President Bush's approval rating has slumped to 31% in a new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, the lowest of his presidency and a warning sign for Republicans in the November elections. Read below the fold...

How long?

Apparently the CIA Director may have had, um, a little bit more to do with those hookers than he previously admitted. That's the only conclusion I can draw from this sudden resignation. There's something embarrassing that's going to break soon. My, my. Read below the fold...
