Blood-colored Kool-Aid

koolaid Republicans block Iraq war debate. So, what are the anti-Democrats afraid of?

Of course, they're all afraid of actual military service, for themselves or their kids, we know that ("other priorities"), but I meant, but why would the anti-Democrats be nervous about going on the record and giving Bush's "new way forward" an "up-or-down" vote of confidence?

Aren't the anti-Democrats up there on the Hill to do the people's work?

And the Bush surge is going to work, right?

Come on out, little Republicans! Don't be shy! Come on out! I know you're in there! Stop h-i-i-i-i-i-ding!

NOTE Great quote from McConnell:

"There's not a single Republican senator seeking to avoid this debate," McConnell said.

Snicker. They're not afraid of it. They just don't want it to happen. La la la, I can't hear you, America!

What are the Democrats afraid of?

is my question.

Brad Bradblog reports on a conf call with Feingold today:

Feingold's remarks were highly critical not just of the Republicans, but even moreso of his own Democratic caucus colleagues, "Washington insider consultants", and even former Senatorial colleague-turned-presidential candidate John Edwards for failing to take a tough stand to end the war in Iraq.

In a passionate thirty minute call, Feingold stressed, "This is an important moment to see if we're gonna try and end this war. Frankly, I'm disappointed that Democrats are playing it safe on this one."

One of the commenters, CharlesMac has a great slogan/mantra:

It's time to hammer the hell out of them until they do the job We specifically sent them to do.

Remember... Remember... the 7th of November.

Operationally, what does "hammer the hell out" mean?

What pricks the bag of pus?

Honestly, I think it's the money... Wonder how the Waxman hearings are going....

One answer to my own question

Here.

Obama's smart to take advantage of new Congressmen like Patrick Murphy who are also veterans (and netroots, too). Kudos.

Hammer

It means the netroots, activists should keep pushing the Dems to do something to stop the war and not accept that they are utterly powerless.

I’m confused. How do they

I'm confused. How do they do it? If they need 60 votes to get a bill on the floor and 67 to veto proof it in the Senate, and they can't get a non-binding resolution going, how do they pass a resolution to stop the funding?

And where were all these great Repubs like Hegel when we needed him? I saw him on show after show during these past two or three years with Biden. But Biden was always doing the talking against the war, one way or another. Suddenly Hegel sounds off but all bark and no bite.

Maybe there the ones who need pressuring.

Good news, Hobson

See Here.

Like you, though, I find "keep pushing" ... confusing. No operational detail.
