[Welcome, Eschatonians! --lambert]
Those of you who have followed my series on home winemaking have read about my Red Currant wine. This year I entered it into the Indiana State Fair International Wine Competition, the first time I've entered any of my wines in competition. And I'm pleased to announce that it won a Silver Medal!

Congratulations!

Isn't currant wine what got Diana drunk
in Anne of Green Gables? In the TV series it looked as if she thought it was pretty yummy.
I'm so impressed!
Congratulations!
Not only has the wine been judged very fine, but your label is snazzy and looks damned good with that medal around it.
Well done!
How very nice to get some recognition, and good on you as well for having the courage to enter the contest. Well done, indeed.
(Are you entered in the WI State Fair too? If so, break a leg!)
Thanks, Everyone!
bringiton - I didn't have my entry ready in time for the Wis State Fair, the wine competition is earlier in the year and judging is done before the fair starts.
Next year I'll know and be ready.
Hope you can go anyway
WI does a good state fair. Nothing quite like the aroma of that livestock barn on a August afternoon.
Felicidades!
Congrats! It's beautiful. I've never had currant wine, so I'm ready to buy a bottle from you. (My grandfather and dad made wine. The dessert grape was to die for, the dandelion was lovely, the banana...not so much.)
Congrats
Where can we get a bottle?
i saw that earlier
you big ham. nice job. we'll hoist a glass at the next get together, i pray.
Sorry
But to maintain my amateur standing I can't sell it, and besides, this year's supply is diminishing rapidly. But if there's ever a Corrente meet-and-greet I guarantee if I'm there, wine will follow. I'll likely be at Eschacon next year if any of you can make it - there will be samples.
Beautiful
picture and wine...
Impressive.
Haven't had time yet to read your other posts on this--I hope you included recipes?!
Kudos!
And thanks for linking to your old series on winemaking. I didn't know about it and can't wait to read it!
