Jackie Speier
Has a great and courageous life story.
However, her supporters are vicious and egotistical, which means that she will not only be out of touch before the ballots hit the bottom of the ballot box, but her supporters will turn with an arrogance that is unthinkable to behold.
Debate? Speier supporters want none of that. Ideas? No "electability" is the answer.
Since Speier's followers want to immediately end debate with attacks, then I will say the movement is the candidate, and we've had enough cults of candidate and electable people.
What's wrong with Lessig on the FCC, say?
Wouldn't he do better work there than in Congress?
I have to say, that I'm not totally enthusiastic about The Boys on The Blog, the "creative class," parachuting Lessig in, when we've already got somebody not half bad who's ready to go. And I love Lessig's work on Creative Commons.
