In the red corner… Richard “Hillary Clinton Shot Vince Foster” Mellon Scaife.

In the blue corner… Hillary Clinton.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall…

I'll start it off!

You were close, Dick, but actually I shot him one, two, three, four… five times!

(kidding.)

But I still believe
And I will rise up with fists!!

Why isn't he

crawling on the floor begging for her forgiveness?…

cuz she’s got class.

nope

“And lastly, the fifth reason, unlike me… Obama or McCain might actually investigate the past administration’s crimes”

pleased to meet you

…hope you get my name

But what’s puzzling you

Is the nature of my game…

No Hell below us
Above us, only sky

Common ground?

Scaife was in WaPo last year regarding his divorce from wife #2.

The culture of his own marriage is apparently past restoring. With the legal fight still in the weigh-in phase, the story of Scaife v. Scaife already includes a dog-snatching, an assault, a night in jail and that divorce court perennial, allegations of adultery.

Oh, and there’s the money. Three words, people.

No. Pre. Nup.

What makes this photo fascinating is that Scaife has/had a reputation for dealing mercilessly with people:

In his own small world in Pittsburgh, Scaife is known as a man who wants to be in control, who wants employees who say “yes,” who is capable of bearing grudges for years. Once, it is said by knowledgeable sources, he compelled the Mellon Bank to fire a newly hired attorney in the bank’s legal department because the lawyer was the son of a former employee Scaife had turned against.

Scaife has broken off relations with numerous friends and associates, waged a bitter, prolonged divorce battle with his first wife, has strained relations with his son and no relations with his daughter. He and his sister haven’t spoken for 25 years.

I agree: I would love to have known what this was all about.

Funny thing, though

Here’s Scaife, Tammy Vasco’s client, still in the newspapers, still with his billions, and not hounded from public life at all.

Unlike Eliott Spitzer.

Odd, that. Or not.

Standard-issue interview

I agree: I would love to have known what this was all about.

She was interviewing with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for their endorsement. I’ve seen some grumbling that she shouldn’t have been doing that because of what he did, but what is she supposed to do? She’s running for President, she’s campaigning in Pennsylvania, and she can’t simply refuse to seek the endorsement of one of the two major papers in one of the two major cities in the state just because she hates the publisher’s guts.

Zuzu is right

The ends justify the means.

Wait, I think I’ve heard that before. I’ll bet Obama came up with it.

“How do I hate thee?
Let me count the ways.
I hate thee to the depth and breadth and height…”

“And to think, Obama is scared to be photographed with Gavin Newsome. Yeah, that’s the guy you want negotiating with insurance companies.”
