In an interview on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” Sanders indicated that he would limit the use of drones so that they do not end up killing innocent people abroad, but declined to say that he would end the targeted killing campaign completely.
“I think we have to use drones very, very selectively and effectively. That has not always been the case,” Sanders said.
So once again, international law is the enemy of the US and its Axis of Evil which includes Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
One more country on the bloody clipboard of US hegemony is doomed for criminal and savage destruction.

Michael Ratner: I must say, you know, the courts have essentially taken a break from the U.S. Constitution since 9/11. We’ve lost, if you look at it, any cases to do with torture, every case to do with indefinite detention, and every case to do with drone killing, and rendition as well. ... The courts have stepped aside when allegations of torture have come in and haven’t given relief to people who have been tortured, haven’t given relief to the people still sitting in Guantanamo who we indefinitely detained, and haven’t given relief even to American citizens who have been killed by drone, and of course we’ve lost every case on rendition as well. So you can basically say the courts are not just useless, they’re worse than useless, because they give many people in America the illusion that somehow we have a court system and we’re getting rulings, but in fact they’ve upheld doctrines that before 9/11 you would have never suspected a court in the United States to uphold.
As I followed some stone steps leading through a pretty courtyard to the side entrance of the Unitarian Church of All Souls on the upper East side of New York last Thursday, I drew in a serious lungful of cold, crisp night air to help gird myself for what I was about to hear and see. So as of last Sunday the US State Dept. closed down 19 foreign embassies and facilities in North Africa and the Middle East due to an ongoing “terror alert” begun last Friday based on what Thomas Gaist in "US officials cite deadly drone strike in Yemen to defend NSA spying operations" reports US officials call a "need to exercise caution.” Gaist declares this a “euphemistic way of saying the government does not have credible, specific evidence to offer to the public.” Read more about Real Global Terror Alert or NSA-Justifying Scare Tactic?
I recently came across an interesting article with some bold theorizing by Robert J. Burrowes entitled “The Destruction of Obama.” Burrowes uses Obama’s autobiography “Dreams From My Father” to analyze probable childhood conditioning for what he determines is Obama’s lack of psychological integration today.
I have not read the book, but I found many of Burrowes’ psychological conclusions compelling.
Burrowes sees Obama as having serious and endangering “issues” and lists a few principle ones: Read more about The Tragic & Dangerous Arrested Development of Barack Obama
The CIA Director will be John Brennan.
Norman Pollack in “Architect of Terror” points out some of the dimensions of Brennan’s oversight (familiar territory already to him): armed drones, targeted assassinations, rendition, black holes, subsidies to domestic fascist groups for breaking up "radical" rallies, and other “cloak and dagger” sadism.
Pollack also writes: “In Obama, the Agency, along with JSOC, has its impressario, cheerleader, and now tactical adviser, rolled in one.” Read more about Fascist Obama & Personality Over Principle Progressives
Rand Paul’s Message to Obama: Don’t Drone Me Bro
by Medea Benjamin
[Benjamin comments on how Rand Paul brought up the question that if drones had existed back in the tumultuous anti-Vietnam War 60’s and 70’s, would Jane Fonda and students at Kent State college have been droned or threatened with droning for treason with their protests? He warns that the threshold of defining the enemy may become so lowered that “free speech and assembly” could become regarded as dangerous insurgency.] Read more about Libby’s Political Stew: Drones, Rand Paul, Brennan, Jane Fonda
Bill Van Auken reminds us that the US-French intervention in Mali has been touted as “humanitarian”, “aimed at rescuing Malian people from Islamists.” He declares, “the reality is that the war has unleashed immense human suffering.”
Here are some “realpolitik” excerpted takes on Obama’s State of the Union Address from Glen Ford, Norman Solomon, Barry Grey, Pepe Escobar, Matthew Rothschild:
Glen Ford of BAR in “Obama’s State of the Corporate Union”:
It was an impassioned performance by a cynical politician who offers little but corporate tax incentives and continued austerity. Barack Obama peppered his State of the Union address with up-tempo buzzwords about illusory “progress,” but the president’s substantive message was that he is determined to complete the austerity bargain he struck with the Republicans in 2011. ...
Obama’s jobs program is almost entirely a corporate tax incentive scheme, to bribe corporations to send home the jobs they sent offshore, where they have also hidden tens of trillions from taxation – a subject not deemed worthy of mention in a national discussion of shared sacrifice and patriotic obligations.

Did anyone else notice the beautiful play the Obama Admin. pulled on the Senate Intelligence Committee? It was one of the most beautiful political cons I can remember ever witnessing. Releasing the OLC determinations to the Committee just prior to the Brennan hearing completely neutered the Committee’s ability ask any substantive questions. Here’s how the con went down… Read more about Obama Admin. Goes “Ocean’s ’13″ on Senate Intelligence Committee
I wonder if Obama’s face will be carved into Mount Rushmore. Has the universe seriously become that cruelly surreal and Orwellian?
I think so.
A few days ago when I saw Obama’s likeness photoshopped onto Mount Rushmore on Al Sharpton’s show it made bitter bile burn my throat and choke me.
I then managed to scream and announce to a brother and nephew that if or when Obama ended up memorialized in such a way that would be the day I moved to another country.
“Where will you move to?” my nephew asked. Read more about Obama’s Continuing ‘Garden Path’ to Fascism
