Bananas with banana fiber yarn
Knitting = wool, right? Not necessarily. Plant fibers make excellent yarn, too. The yarn shown above, made entirely from banana "silk" (plant fiber), is light and soft as a kitten. Hemp, cotton, linen (from the flax plant) and bamboo fibers are also spun into yarn, and they are all extraordinary, in my experience -- strong, soft, easy to work with. Read below the fold...
