Coffee...

Cue the wanking:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is open to having coffee with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, whose new book about the 2008 presidential campaign is stirring controversy.

“I absolutely would look forward to having coffee,” Clinton said from Singapore Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

And why the heck not?

Nice truncating of Hillary's words there, Reuters blogger!

Hillary continued by saying that she would use the coffee drinking time to try to persuade Palin of the errors of her thinking on many issues. She opened by saying that while there were very few issues they agreed on, she would be open to coffee and discussion....

I'm sure the video has that, right? (Can't get audio here in Library Land)....

I agree, jawbone...

I love it when Hillary smiles sweetly, then delivers that patented Clintonite zinger.

Of course the narrative in PUMA-land is that Hillary and Sarah should run for office together, so this will create a frenzy, I'm sure. Hillary was my Senator for 6 years, and let's just say, such a scenario is highly unlikely. (cough cough)

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that coffee klatsch.

"Now, Sarah. About that whole anti-choice thing..."

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.

Random term

The origin of the term is obscure; everyone talks about the duck pit, but nobody ever says where it is, what it is, or how the people destined for it will get there. Believed to be a Babylon 5 reference, however. Usage example: Aux duck pits, citoyens I found this at Orcinus: "Some liberal commenters, for instance, on certain threads I read have devised, satirically, a "duck pit" into which all conservative minions will be cast on the day of liberal reckoning, there to be nibbled to death by a thousand hungry ducks." If I remember correctly, it originated in comments at Atrios, as a response to violent threats by Right Wing trolls. Sometimes sillines and absurdity are are a good antidote for hatred.
