Stupidest career "progressives" on the face of the earth

Progressives whining over Obama deal remind me of tweens who complained about getting a white iPhone instead of a black one for Christmas

TBogg really does exemplify F. Scott Fitzgerald's dictum that "There are no second acts in American lives." Act One, Scene One: The Obama campaign, 2008... And then the curtain never drops. The same "hardest working shill in show business" schtick, the same infantilizing tactics, the same smug manipulation of class and cultural markers: It just goes on and on and on, rather like a Kos thread when Obama fans attack.*

So here's why people might "whine" who live outside The World o' TBogg:

Because of the expiration of the payroll tax cut, a worker earning $50,000, for instance, would pay $1,000 more in taxes next year; meanwhile, a worker earning less than $20,000 a year would pay about $100 more in taxes. Someone in the upper fifth of households, making $150,000 a year, will pay about $2,200 more.

I don't know about you, but to me $1,000 is a meaningful amount of money: Five months of server time, or almost two months of fuel. And $100 is a meaningful amount of money: Half a month of server time, or a half cord of wood.

Now, I'm happy for TBogg that these sums are trivial to him, but they are not trivial for the rest of us being fucked over at the margin by the banksters, the legacy parties they own, "Our President,", and the career "progressives" like TBogg who run interference for the whole ugly process.

NOTE * To be fair, did we even have iPhones back in 2008? It's been so long I forget. Of course, the brain bleach helped.

NOTE From a public policy perspective, I'm not saying "tax cuts are good." I'm saying this: The payroll tax holiday proves that Federal taxes can be used to regulate the economy, just as MMT advocates said: Lower them in bad times, raise them in good. So, the legacy parties, after regulating the economy upward in good times (success!), are now regulating the economy downward in bad times (stupid and/or evil, I don't care which). That doesn't necessarily mean recession, because other factors are in play!

Which I have to admit he's very good at. See -- we're talking about him here. Reading him (and his comment section) is a habit I've been trying with some success to break, but sadly I still occasionally relapse.

Let alone on the front page. I always wondered why dday allowed his high quality stuff to appear next to such a content-free blowhard. TBogg is a foul mouthed bottom feeder, to put it kindly.

Please don't propagate his ranting here.

I used to love his stuff, until he became an Obama cheer leader. my sister loves tbogg, thinks he is hilarious. I have to admit, I loved his take down of Komen pink. those posts were hilarious.

he used to have his own blog, which was reasonably popular. so he brought a lot of traffic to FDL. I think that tbogg sometimes wonders what he is doing over there.

the only person who can persuade Democrats that Obama is a fraud is Obama. Some people will take longer to learn than others.
