Just plain insulting
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Unclaimed clothing left at airport security checkpoints may soon be going to homeless and needy veterans and their families.
The House passed the legislation by voice vote on Wednesday. The Senate previously passed the Clothe a Homeless Hero Act, which awaits President Obama's signature.
U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., introduced a similar version in the Senate on Nov. 28. He was a sponsor of the final legislation that passed the Senate on Dec. 11.
This is just cringe worthy. Why are veterans homeless? They have marketable skills. They have experience. Why don't they have jobs?
Why don't we have a job guarantee?
Why is anyone homeless? When I was a kid the number of homeless people was so microscopic you never noticed them. The large groups of homeless people we have now dates precisely from the Reagan administration.
Michale Moore is correct, America does not support its troops. No one should enlist. If people stopped enlisting, something might be done.
