A blog (from "web blog") is a discussion or informational site consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed newest first. All Corrente posts are front-paged; there is no up-rate or down-rate process. Corrente posts are almost entirely community moderated. I've been trying to get back into shape, after a car accident a few years ago I started getting sedentary, and woke up one day and realized I've lost all of my hard won muscle tone, and my physical capabilities, which I have always been proud of, have degenerated. I was always so proud of my atypical buff body, that this realization was devastating.
And I'm not getting any younger, and I'm really starting to fear that if I don't do something now, I never will. So, mild mannered workouts for me, until I get back to an equilibrium of capability again.
I was also distressed by the aging of my face, so I've also endeavored to start taking better care of my skin.
So for those who have started a regimen that may be stressing your calves, I have the stretch for you.
Place a stool on the floor, near a wall. Stand on the stool, facing the wall, using your arms for support. Place the balls of your feet on the edge of the stool with the rest of your foot hanging off. Extend your heels to the floor as far as possible.
This will help flush the lactic acid built up in your muscles, alleviating soreness.
I finally got the exercise plan today. So tomorrow I start. Meanwhile, I'm trending downward on the food, toward salad (though I have to admit I slipped on Sunday and had a steak -- probably better for me than baked goods, however).
After hobbling down stairs all day Monday(not up stairs, only down) he showed it to me and after a more extensive workout Monday night, I have no ache at all in my calves!
