In the long tangled tale of the fail of Single Payer in California we find that the Democrats are completely useless.

Not completely useless. They do a pretty good job of protecting their corporate owners from the wrath of the voters. After all, that's what they're paid to do.

Not just the Democrats, it would appear, but also at least one pressure group that had been for single payer. One of the reasons Democrats get away with stuff like this is that the progressive pressure groups so often let them.
