that theory only works if some film other than Argo (or Zero Dark Thirty) had won. After all, Argo was all about how a Democratic administration saved the Iran hostages, and that's what won.

Lincoln lost because all of Hollywood resents Spielberg's ability to consistently make "good" films that do extremely well at the box office...
