Previously Politico has been casting this as AHIP vs HCAN't, at least single payer has entered the picture:
Health care advocates promote reform
Single-payer health care proposals fell out of favor with politicians of all stripes this campaign season, but now the single-payer advocates are back in Washington. And they’re pushing Democrats to propose a single-payer system that expands Medicare to cover all Americans.
Single Payer advocates began the campaign season with 89 cosponsors, we are now up to 93 and that doesn't count the three new representatives who won on a single payer platform. But at least this is a step forward. He specifically mentions John Conyers' Medicare for All, California Nurses, PNHP, and the other single payer advocates, so at least we are visible.

How many sponsors are needed to get this to the floor? Is there
a magic number? or can Speaker Nancy quash anything she doesn't want to have attention? Different number for floor than to committee? Can Conyers just get it before committee?
I should probably reread you past posts....
It takes more than a majority to get something to a vote on, what is it called, petition, no?
there is no minimum
The idea of cosponsor is that someone gets to put their name on a piece of legislation. It is an indication of its overall popularity. No other proposed health care legislation has even half as many cosponsors. Not only that, two of the cosponsors, are committee chairs, so there is some serious political muscle here.
The first hurdle will be getting out of the House Health subcommittee. Since some of the cosponsors are on that subcommittee, things are looking good.
Our big problem is in the Senate.
Who Heads the House Health Subcommittee?
I'm not even sure what committee the health subcommittee is under because there doesn't appear to be a standalone health committee.
But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...
