Convovulus: Blogging/Off

The trouble with blogging is that there's no [ ] in it. Sorry I've been away. I'm around, and just not terribly interested in the political process right now. The reasons for that are both personal, and political. We're still at war? Bush and Cheney haven't been impeached? The economy is still sprialling downward for all but the richest 1%? North Dakota is still on schedule to be the next French Riviera in about 30 years, when we're having water wars? Sigh. See, I'm being 'negative' again. Sorry about that.

I think I'll come back when I can write things that go in a different direction. I put these in yesterday:

Like most men, I know very

Like most men, I know very little about flowers. (Maybe it's a Y-chromosome thing.) These are particularly attractive flowers, however, because of the correlation of colors. Because I have UV-blocking implanted eye lenses, colors shift for me, and everything moves towards the blue side of the spectrum. This makes all the violet and lavender colors deliciously cool, and yellows are less vibrant. At the same time color borders are far more vivid, and these three colors especially appealing.

Thanks for supply my new desktop.

When you're ready to write again we'll be here to read.

Can't anyone here play this game right?

It's all good

I may put in a hummingbird feeder. People tell me the ruby-throated species appear up here.

No authoritarians were tortured in the writing of this post.

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." -- Mahatma Gandhi

Here the lovely smelling privet hedge is in full bloom

And I'm hideously allergic to it. (sound of hoarse breathing)

Passion flowers are wonderful.

CD, just write

Your passion, your interests, they are what make your writing - and you - interesting. Even in these desperate times, life is about much more than politics and war and global warming.

It isn't you writing about polarizing issues that we (I) miss, it's YOU. There are all too few people in this world who are passionate, articulate, informed AND interesting. You are all of those things, and one of the few.

No one can write when they feel they have nothing to say. Write when you are ready.

Thanks for checking in.

Jake

The bad news and the good news

The bad news is that these bastards will surely come up with something even worse than we've seen and heard before.

The good news is that smart, passionate people like yourself will be moved to help us make sense of it.

Dollars to dahlias they're going to pull some shit that'll itch your bloggin' fingers. If not, keep on rockin' in the real world and maybe tell us what it's like now and again.

*sigh*

I've disappeared myself from time to time, sometimes from ennui of the unchanging landscape and more often from totally unrelated personal stuff. Take your time, come back when you can - just so you know we miss you when you're gone and some of us even worry a little when you don't at least check in. Glad to know you're out in the garden.

CD's Sabbatical (?)

Have very much enjoyed reading your postings, which were quite prolific. I wondered how you managed to do it! Hope that, after you've had some time to "decompress," you will be back!!

Thank you.

On my Favorites list

I believe I found this blog from an Eschaton comments post. I check in several times a week and feel relieved that there are others who are articulate and savvy enough to do the heavy lifting so I don't have to. I love this Blog and wish all well who post here. I look forward to when CD is up and running again.

Cheers

I Feel The Same Way, Honey

I can't seem to work up the energy for blogging either right now. So, like you, I've stepped back a bit for the time being. You'll be back, as big and as bad assed as ever. We'll look forward to it.

You still in the frozen Northland? Hope all is well with the family. Call when you're back in the DC area and we'll find some trouble to get into.

do your flowery thang.

saw the post earlier, thought i had commented, CD.

i understand is all i wanted to say. and i wish you well. if i see you again, i'll be happy. if not, i'll be happy you are happy.

con muchas flores y cariño,
