I'm still working on Red Dead Redemption, real life has rudely interrupted Aeryl and BDBlue is performing CPR on her PS3. So since things are slow on the gaming front, and as the ladies said summer's here and the time is right for dancing in the street, we proudly present our SPECIAL SUMMER MUSIC BLOWOUT DOUBLE ISSUE!!!! Or just a lazy repurposing of my midyear music review from last year.

Anyway, what music has done it for you so far this year?

Marky - RUN ON.
Sampling Johnny Cash in a hip hop song = win.

The Living Sisters - Double Knots.
An Andrews Sisters sort of retro vibe along with what appear to be some pretty kinky lyrics. Contrast like that is so much more provocative than something obvious and explicit, don't you think?

I Blame Coco - Self Machine.
Sting's daughter. She doesn't need the publicity obviously, but this really is a terrific song. (Funny enough, I'm only a lukewarm fan of the Police and don't care for Sumner's solo work at all. The Onion took the piss out of him years ago and it remains one of my favorites from them.)

The Whigs - Kill Me Carolyne
Straight ahead rock and roll. Dig it, baby.

I've been playing Final Fantasy 12 and I'll be able to review it for August! Yea!

Then, hopefully, I'll join the 21st century and get that XBox 360 I've been wanting, and review Final Fantasy 13. (notice a pattern?) And Wet, I can't wait to play Wet.

Not only does it feature voice acting from one of my fave actresses, but the heroine wears clothes!
