Darcy Burner and Friends have a plan

And they aren’t afraid to talk about it.

We have a lot of problems, and no shortage of criticism. What we don’t have and need more of are positive, affirmative plans for action, ways to reverse the damage done and start building a sustainable and equitable future.

This is a start.

Plan to End the War in Iraq Released on Monday

Six months ago, I initiated an effort to develop effective policy and political strategies to end the war in Iraq. Since then I have been working with leading military experts, policy analysts, national security experts, and a group of top-tier Congressional candidates and elected officials from around the country to draft a plan to bring the War in Iraq to a responsible end. After a lot of hard work, I am pleased to announce that we will be launching our plan on Monday at the Take Back America Conference in Washington, D.C.

The plan sets out, in some detail, the steps that Congress can take to convert our current military involvement in Iraq into a comprehensive political, diplomatic and economic effort to assist the Iraqi people through a difficult transition. It also details the many areas in which we need to take action to deal with the serious damage this misguided war has caused.
While I realize you probably can't travel to Washington DC on Monday, I hope that you will watch the event live here at darcyburner.com on Monday at 2:30 PM PDT.

While the hook here is Iraq, the larger vision is to expand “The Plan” to a broad approach for restructuring the purpose of American governance along progressive principles, and use that larger plan as a template for the fall campaign and for influencing the next President and the new Congress. Clinton supporters may want to encourage her to embrace this initiative - now.

More like this, please.

[Update] A pdf copy of A Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq is up here, with the recent CYA from Petraeus as a header on the cover page:
