The difference being...?

Will the Democrats in the House and Senate that are closely allied with big corporate interests back their corporate friends or Obama?

Oh, having eyes he sees not! A remaining True Believer?

Doesn't he get that the centrist/rightish Dems in the House and Senate wouldn't dare be so open about siding with Big Corporatists and wouldn't be so blatantly pampering the Parasites if Obama didn't show them the way? If he weren'tt giving them cover by sucking up to Repubs?

OMG! A naif!

Mike's evidently just a little too close

for his eyes to focus.

Is liberalism dead?

If I get time this weekend I'll talk about this more. How can a supposedly liberal commentator believe that Obama isn't a corporate/big finance Democrat? Are lying words liberal values rather than actions?

What good is a 60 seat senate majority when you want to pass legislation with 70 votes? That tells you about core values.

Liberals are really losing their minds. Koolaid is toxic.

Here we have the spectacle of a gay person defending the Obama brief in support of DOMA. Suddenly, it's just fine to compare homosexuality to incest and child marriage in court - if you have the magic D by your name. They just had to do that. Well, no, hmm, actually they didn't. But don't worry. Be patient.

We all clucked and tut-tutted when this happened to Republicans. What's the Matter with Kansas, that people could be convinced to vote against their own best interests? Everyone reading the book must have delusionally concluded that this could never happen to them because they have the magic D! With the magic D, someday my ship is gonna come in, someday it's gonna be the day of Jubilee, someday my civil rights will be restored. Nevermind that temporarily, all of those things have to get worse. Because, with the magic D, it's for your own good and it will all be restored someday in the distant future. Yes, all we have to do is wait.

It's truly amazing to see this attitude on issue after issue.

Wrong letter

The magic is in the "O," especially where Andy is concerned.

Sullivan is not a liberal, to put it mildly--he was a Repub, may

still be for all I know, but he gradually became disillusioned with BushBoy and now is enthralled with Obama. Principles sometimes enter into his writing; sometimes not. But I haven't read him in quite awhile....

One and the same

Will the Democrats in the House and Senate that are closely allied with big corporate interests back their corporate friends or Obama?

Oh, the crushing, hideous irony, of it all. Don't they get it. They are one and the same! We have but a very few true allies in the upper levels of government, and the president has displayed on quite a few recent occasions that he's not necessarily one of them.

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...
