Surprise! The Republican fear-mongering emanating from Chernoff's churning gut is already producing the intended results:
A flight from Los Angeles to London was diverted to New York Thursday because of what officials said may have been an unfounded security scare.
The scare came on the heels of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff's comment earlier this week that he had a "gut feeling" the United States faced a heightened risk of attack this summer.
Fear fear fear fear fear Daddy fear fear Daddy fear.
And to think that I thought haruspication had gone out of fashion with the Roman empire...

This is just the opening round in the coming GOP campaign of terror- &fear-mongering, leading up to the nomination of Ghouliani to replace his fascist masters in the ShiteHouse.
I do not think it impossible--I have NEVER thought it impossible--that the Pukes would engineer (or, at a minimum, permit) another successful, bloody attack on USers in the Homeland.
The Pukes would NOT be blamed. The left, and lib'ruls, and Dems would be targeted for blame--and likely other retributive actions--for 'interfering' with the Chimp and his minions' efforts to 'Protect the People,' by their complaints about torture, illegal intercepts, and the rest of the Bushevik repertoire of fascist tricks.

I think Konopelli is right. And as an FYI, W has informed Singapore today that he will no longer be attending the ASEAN Summit on Sept5 as this date no longer fits in his schedule. He's cancelling a diplomatic summit, and I don't think Condi's even going to attend.
Gates cancelled a South American trip for this month. Chertoff's belly aches, yesterday I likened it to reading the entrails of a chicken hawk, but that would be augury, not haruspication (G) Great word.
Methinks something is for sure up. Perhaps some of Lambert's benign neglect is going on.
