Egad. Someone make it stop. Today is Pwn Obama Day for Maureen, and she's trying real hard (subscription only, to protect your eyes):
Can He Unleash the Force?
Obama is Luke Skywalker.
But often he reverts to Obambi, tentative about commanding the stage and consistently channeling the excitement he engenders.
Yep, you read that right. Obama is Bambi.
In the first two Democratic debates and Monday night’s forum on faith, Hillary Clinton commanded the stage, just like a great squash player dominates the T.
Yeah, nothing like a squash reference (no offense, lambert) to drive a point home. Obama is a bad squash player.
He seems afraid of a repeat of that moment last December, as the clamor for him to run was building, when he touched her elbow and winked at her on the Senate floor, and she kept walking. He called a friend afterwards, stunned at her icy behavior.
Obama is a whiny schoolgirl.
The Boy Wonder cannot take over the country unless he can take on Wonder Woman.
Obama is a sidekick to Batman.
Shorter Maureen Dowd:
Obambi: Step up and kick some Hillary ass, or I will make you my bitch.

Okay, so she’s a jerk
Okay, so she's a jerk about 70% of the time. That's still better than most columnists.
You know, he's very articulate...
for a deer.

Let's not deceive ourselves
This stuff is designed to destroy Democrats in the eyes of voters, especially low information voters, and it works.
It's not a coincidence that Edwards' numbers dropped after MoDo and her ilk engaged in a little forced feminization on the hair thing.
Now she's going after Obama.
Proving to me that, if the Beltway can't have Bush anymore, they'll be fine with Hillary. Not a recommendation, in my mind, but then I'm a DFH
, so what do I know?
No authoritarians were tortured in the writing of this post.
Only problem is...
The only problem with your argument, Lambert, is that ALL of the democratic candidates for president really, really, really, really suck. They're ALL a bunch of wimps when it comes to a majority of the major topics.
I mean, what to do when the only candidate on either side who's actually got come insight into the War on Terra is Republican/Libertarian Ron Paul? I mean, sure, I may disagree with him on every other topic out there and I may kinda think he's a bit of a douchebag for his standpoint on the "free market economy," which is as much a pipedream and ignores human nature just as much as most other Republican standpoints, but he's the only one with enough balls to get up and say we should be setting an example for the world so that they'll want to improve their own countries, rather than the way we're currently trying (and failing) to enforce our country's beliefs abroad.
So, I guess, who really cares who goes after Obama, Clinton, et al, when they'd all make piss-poor presidents anyway? As it stands I don't want to vote for ANY of them, but like the last few presidential elections, I'll just end up voting for the lesser of the Democratic evils. I mean, sorry, but after watching both the Republican and Democratic debates, I can see why Republican voters wouldn't even consider crossing party lines to put in their vote for the next president: while the Republican candidates may all be batshit insane, at least they're standing up for their insanity and aren't a bunch of pussies lacking any backbone when in front of an audience of their potential voters.
Of course if Gore runs, they'll all just attack him, taking time away from Republican talking points that aren't related to the environment. And in which case my voting choice will be made easy, 'cause he's the only potential candidate I've seen on network television willing to stand up for SOMETHING.
Gore More Years!
And then do as he says. Perhaps, alike when Odysseus returned to his infected kingdom, Gore can dispatch the suitors and we who are of a mind can help bury the bodies. Of course, I am being metaphorical here. We can outsource the body burials.

Nice try, Maureen.
Maybe it's not cool to say this, but I'm pretty sure the Obama campaign is well aware of what it looks like for a black man to be seen as attacking a white woman, even if only verbally. I'm also pretty sure Dowd is aware of this too, and can't wait to write a column pointing that out. Hopefully she'll be waiting a long, long time.
