QOTDOutside the locked room is the landscape of time, in which the spirit may, with luck and courage, construct the fragile, makeshift, improbable roads and cities of fidelity: a landscape inhabitable by human beings. It is not until an act occurs within the landscape of the past and the future that it is a human act. Loyalty, which asserts the continuity of past and future, binding time into a whole, is the root of human strength; there is no good to be done without it. Joe Biden
Yes I read that,
What do you think about it? I thought that Biden was interesting and that if I win the lottery having a political c-span channel for presidential hopefuls would be great.
I agree with her though that the media is no longer writing about the news but is making the news, or influencing the news. This is why the press gets stifled in regimes. I do think that an irresponsible press leads to an irresponsible democracy.
Democrats never agree on anything, that’s why they’re Democrats. If they agreed with each other, they’d be Republicans — Will Rogers
she so rocks--
“Issues that could make a difference in the lives of Americans didn’t fit into the narrative template and, therefore, took a back seat to these superficialities.”
bingo.
She shouldn’t have brushed off their horrendous treatment of John tho.
amberglow agree
oh wow, I totally forgot about that, I should have reread it. As if whoever would make the best ’movie of the week’ story wins. It’s insane! I also think that a candidate who has to be charismatic is lame. I mean based on that how far would Lincoln, Washington or Buchanan have gotten.

How is it possible
that someone with Obama’s credentials got more media coverage than Edwards, Dodd, Biden or Richardson?

Real Democrats aren’t afraid of democracy
48 + 2 = legitimacy
they wrote their script, ensured that only candidates
they wanted to cover got airtime, and set up for us Evil (woman) Hillary vs. New Fresh (black guy too!) Good Barack (anti-Hillary).
and we’re the ones who have to suffer now—it’s true every election season but this time they really didn’t even hide it…
for GOP it was always gonna be either Rudy or McCain, with sideshows of Huck and Thompson.
These 4 were the best media fodder, so no one else mattered.
