Ending the Bush regime

I've been thinking about what to do with the leftovers of the Bush regime when that swinging door finally hits him on the ass on the way out. This
Firedoglake article by Scarecrow gets at some of what I think we will need to do. Following is the omega paragraph:

If we want to end the occupation, we have to start by liberating the White House. A malevolent and delusional crowd, cheered on by frightened warmongers, headed by Dick Cheney and embraced by the befuddled Bush himself, has a stranglehold on America’s national security policy, and they are not going to loosen their grip until forced to do so. The New York Times editorial is a highly important statement, but it is still missing the most essential paragraph. The regime must go.

It will take a purge of a kind, I think. We will need to get Cheney's minions out of the Pentagon, out of the NSA, out of the CIA; we will need to get Rove's minions out of the executive branch machinery - starting with the DOJ. It will be a huge effort, and it will be resisted tooth and nail by the VRWC (meaning, Republicans).

I think the CIA has been loaded with Cheney's minions since WWII. It is time to sweep the place clean and fill it with people - and leaders - who don't owe their primary allegiance to the hate- and fear-mongers among us. Perhaps it is an occupational hazard, since (presumably) they spend their time and efforts trying to foresee and forestall doom and disaster, but as far as I can determine, they have caused more than than they have prevented.

I don't think there is any way that we will end the Bush regime except at the ballot box. Even there, we can only hope. Still, it would be good to have a plan for when they are gone - if not gone to prison, at least gone from the White House. Jake

Wonderful Dream Jake!

I, for one, believe I'll just pack it in! I'm taking all my faith in the American public, my puny IQ, maybe a little music for a change, and just giving up!
You really think there will be an election in 2008? I guess it's possible, but it would only happen their way, and that's not worth much.
Only a handful of people will step back and consider, the military's all locked away, with no chance of stopping whatever happens here, the media and the courts are bought and paid for, the private army is ready and willing to fire on trouble makers, and can be anywhere in a moment's notice, the camps are ready, the National Guard's gone, if they don't get their hurricane, they can pull off another 9/11, that was a cinch! Once the International Prison System of America is up and running there should be plenty of room for leaders who don't like missiles aimed at them! And that huge embassy complex, nobody's goin' anywhere!

I don't know 'nuttin, but I knew then, what I know now!

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
