Well, I suppose Evan Bayh is an improvement over Chuck Hagel, especially now that it's been revealed he's really a woman (Bayh, I mean).
But.... I'm having the vaguest of vague recollections that Bayh was -- perhaps peripherally? MR SUBLIMINAL Haw! -- involved with the DLC which, as Lord Kos has stated numerous times, is the font of all evil, since the last Democrat elected and allowed to take office as President was a DLCer.
It's s-o-o-o-o confusing! When can I have my pony?
So, consider this an open horse race thread.
Because I've got to paint.
NOTE As VL points out, we'll be looking at a cranial splatterfest over at DU if Obama's choice is Bayh. Plenty of room, still, under the bus!

Bayh...
Bayh, in fact, is the "Goldilocks" choice, because he's got a good resume (two terms as Governor, and in his second senate term -- and on key national security committees) and has a famous name (Obama has to pick someone who represents 'stability'), but no one's ever heard of him (Obama has to not pick someone better known than he is to prevent being overshadowed by his running mates gravitas.)
And there will be no serious bloodletting over at DU. While they may scream bloody murder about Bayh right now, the minute The Oracle proclaims that Bayh is his choice, it will be considered Infallible Doctrice.
Of course there will be no bloodletting at DU
Alice Cooper had a song that tells you who bleeds.
All the people who crucified HRC for being in the DLC will be completely shameless about embracing Bayh if he's the one for The One.
I'll be paying attention to the reaction
Right now I'm not voting for either Obama or McCain. The OFB
's reaction/justification can definitely push me one way or another. Particularly given Lambert's post on the fuhrer.
Only tyrants rig elections.
And of course Obama won Bayh's state...wait...
With reporting like this from the Indy Star: "The Elkhart stop will be Obama's...second since his hard-fought primary election battle with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton."
Which Obama lost to Hillary. We're right about keeping the old records intact, an awful lot of revision is happening--Indiana, wait that was close, right? Didn't Obama say it was the tiebreaker? Back in the days when votes counted? Then he "must have" won it.
Nothing wrong with being a woman
What does this mean? "...especially now that it’s been revealed he’s really a woman (Bayh, I mean)." Is there a link? Or is that just snark on the any VP but Hillary meme?
Hadn't you heard?
After all these years, Evan Bayh....
Nah. Just snark.

FWIW
Chuck Todd and Ron Brownstein on MSNBC just now both agreed that Indiana is so in play right now that Republicans are privately telling them that picking Bayh would put the state in the Obama column for sure. Both of them seemed to think it's the only state on the map where either candidate can tip a state with the vp pick.
... Evan Bayh goodness.
