Even Jesse Ventura Knows About Torture: "It Don't Work"

Say what you will about the former Minnesota governor and ex-wrestler, Jesse Ventura has some cred on this issue: a SERE school survivor, he served as a SEAL in the Navy in the Vietnam era. His comments to Larry King the other night ranged from the obvious (the Carrie Prejean kerfuffle is "much ado about nothing") through the very cautious (on Obama, "it's too soon to tell ... if you have me back in two years I can give you ... how he's doing") to the blindingly incontrovertible (on torture: "it don't work ... why haven't we caught Osama bin Laden? ... We had his people and we tortured them. We haven't done nothing. It don't work."
As usual, Ventura's puffing up how great Ventura is. He says he's done in elective politics, and he's moved to Mexico to do half-a-year at a time learning to surf. But even a stopped clock is right twice a day, and whatever else you make of him, his answers to King in this interview are on the money.
George W. Bush: "The worst President in my lifetime."
Barack Obama: "He inherited something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy."

Dick Cheney: "A coward."
