Even Lil Debbie's noticing

WaPo ombudsman [cough] Debbie Howell:

Democrat Barack Obama has had about a 3 to 1 advantage over Republican John McCain in Post Page 1 stories since Obama became his party's presumptive [Debbie's a racist!] nominee June 4.

With the money advantage, the press advantage, and new registrations, the election's in the bag for Obama now. Don't worry.

Everything's going to be fine.

NOTE My prediction, therefore, is that there will be no reaching out to what used to be the base at all -- the 18 million. There hasn't been, and there won't be. There's no need to. A populist campaign, therefore, will never happen. Post-partisan slop and appeals to evangelicals all the way to November and beyond, with a Congress dominated by Blue Dogs. Well done, all.

the Post editors...

...make fools of themselves in their defense of their overcoverage of Obama. While its true that there should have been some difference in coverage because Howell's time period started when Obama became the 'presumptive' nominee in early June, her data showed a disparity in coverage that continued long after that first week. The Post, and the rest of the media, are simply more willing to treat Obama media events as 'major' stories.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
