Finally! A new way to say "Shut the fuck up!"

Politico:

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell was supposed to give “closing remarks” during this afternoon’s Shorenstein Center-sponsored panel discussion with all three Sunday show moderators — NBC’s Tom Brokaw, ABC’s George Stephanopoulous and CBS’s Bob Schieffer — but instead, he opened up a can of worms about bias in 2008 election coverage

"Ladies and gentleman, the coverage of Barack Obama was embarrassing," said Rendell, in the ballroom at Denver's Brown Palace Hotel. "It was embarrassing."

Or would be, if our famously free press was capable of being embarassed.

Rendell, an ardent Hillary Rodham Clinton supporter during the primaries, now backs Obama in the general election. Brokaw and Rendell began debating campaign coverage, including the on-air comments by Lee Cowan, and when MSNBC came up, Rendell went after the cable network.

“MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign," Rendell said, who called their coverage "absolutely embarrassing."

Chris Matthews, Rendell said, "loses his impartiality when he talks about the Clintons.”

At that point, PBS's Judy Woodruff, who was moderating the moderators event, said: "Why don’t we let Governor Rendell sit down."

That was met with applause from the crowd of big-time media figures, which included Arianna Huffington, Gwen Ifill, Al Hunt, and Chuck Todd.

I'll bet it was.

But I like "Why don’t we let ___________________ sit down." I think that ones got legs.

Arianna, we know who -- and what -- she is, but Gwen Ifill, too, will always have a special place in our hearts.

NOTE Note that Rendell's indictment goes to coverage, differentiating it from the recent haka on Fournier, which was about opinion.

It was Hillary's fault

First by running against Obama, and then by using her mind control rays to make Rendell say that.

When Ed Rendell says things

When Ed Rendell says things like this, I am proud that he is my governor.

Our famously free press

has bought their freedom.

The Democratic party has sold us out. All the new and so-called "better" Democrats elected recently aren't proving any "better" for the average American.

Because we can't afford access (and freedom, like the telecoms,) we're all supposed to sit down and shut up.

He would have done better

by saying it was the anti-Clinton, Clinton Derangement Syndrome channel rather than calling it the Probama station.

Not that both aren't true, just the first half is more "politic" given his current constraints.

Actually, I think it may be even more ballsy

He's not standing by his woman, he's blowing the whistle (or lightly buzzing on the kazoo, anyway) on the Obama con.

Poor Rendell

Probably sharing a cell with Neal Abercrombie as we speak, forced to listen to a continuous loop of the Arthur Jensen speech.

Abercrombie (see link above)

Not re: Clinton, but re: Obama.

No one could have anticipated that the lack of a media critique could turn out to be a problem for all Democrats, even ones who tingle the leg.

But now there are three politicians who have broken the unbreakable rule and admitted that the news media suck.

To Tell The Truth

Really, there are all kinds of bad karma spinning around this year. You wonder how much further this will go, and it keeps going. The new Democratic establishment and its friends and enablers aresimply asking for an implosion.

I kind of wish this would have been said, earlier, and then perhaps Obama and Hillary could have won or loss on their own merits.

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
