For $25,000 Abramoff arranged a meeting with Bush

lambert's picture

Here's a curious little coincidence from The Times

The chief of an Indian tribe represented by the lobbyist Jack Abramoff was admitted to a meeting with President Bush in 2001 days after the tribe paid a prominent conservative lobbying group $25,000 at Mr. Abramoff's direction, according to documents and interviews.

Of course, $25,000 is chump change. You have to wonder if the Times is sitting on much worse information, since 2006 is an election year--just like they suppressed the NSA story for Bush in 2004.

And, of course, the spin will be "Did Bush know?" when the point is that Bush didn't need to know. The whole Republican party is a criminal enterprise, rotten from top to bottom. The real question is, what isn't corrupt with these guys?

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
