Giuliani Pulls Prostate Stats Out of His Ass

Paul Krugman, who, when the last grain of observable truth tumbles into the sea is the one I trust to accurately note the event, wonders why Rudy Giuliani’s habit of lying is not a larger story told by the media.

Mr. Giuliani has a habit of saying things, on issues that range from health care to national security, that are demonstrably untrue. And the American people have a right to know that.

At least Rudy has the right power players endorsing his candidacy.

Republicans lying is a story?

Seriously, where’s the news value in that?

Now, a Republican not lying; that would be a story.

Oh, that this is good too:

Memo to editors: If a candidate says something completely false, it’s not “in dispute.”

If there actually are any editors any more.

Giuliani has a whole right

Giuliani has a whole right wing machine at his back all too happy to continue spreading his lies.

Ever since Sicko came out the right has started a campaign against ’socialized’ medicine with largely false out outdated ’facts’ if you can call them that.

the 44% number is out there now and many on the far right have run with it as gospel.

It will he hard to undo this type of propaganda but I am thankful that timesonline UK ran a story on it and now Krugman has followed up with an OpEd.

It would help if Olberman follows up on national TV to help dispel these lies, myths, and distortions the right is using to beat back ’hillary care’.

Yes, lying is a story

And one that must be told again and again and again…if truth be told.

The story is he used the word "Lying"

Leave aside the fact that Mr. Giuliani is simply lying about what the Democrats are proposing; after all, Mitt Romney is doing the same thing.

You just don’t see that word very much, unless the subject of the article is Al Gore. It kind of gave me a little thrill to see it in print. No dissembling, distorting, obfuscating, stretching, misspeaking: just plain old lying.

Irony!

I agree, MJS: Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Irony is SO last Millenium

Try and keep up, lambert old boy

Irony died several times in the last 7 years.

“A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead

I do humbly acknowledge said irony...

but not if it distracts from the specificity of Giuliani’s lies. Between his healthcare nonsense and his part in the faulty Motorola radios being used by FDNY on 9/11 (not to mention his rather interesting notion about extending his stay as mayor of New York for the sake of Orwellian “unity”) there is a pattern of deception and sheer grandiosity that must be framed for the average consumer to comprehend.

Yes, that pattern (of lying among members of the GOP) is pandemic, but in the particular case of Rudy I believe it must be hit with a big flood light. I would not like his lying to be seen as merely another example of Republican truthiness to be consumed and forgotten. He’s polling too well (one may not like polls, and one may not like weathercasters, but sometimes they warn us of big storms and that is a useful thing).

Lastly, the subconscious is a funny (and sometimes punny) animal—on the surface we humans can acknowledge irony and “get the joke” yet a small quill might burrow under the skin that says “it doesn’t matter…no story here…go away.” Rudy does not deserve one iota of slack. Nicht eins.

You're right, MJS

I should probably reserve the “Shocker: Republican Not Lying” material for untermenschen operatives, not Herr $9.11.

After all, the lizard backbrain has no irony-recognition circuit…

Herr $9.11

Between the FDNY radio deal with Motorola and the firemen who died because no one could hear the command to exit the north(?) tower lies the change due…he cannot be allowed to skate on that one.

My lizard backbrain has gone insane now
Hey, now, hey, now, my lizard backbrain
It thinks we were attacked by Saddam Hussein, now
Hey, now, hey, now, my lizard backbrain
It took me to a bar and I’m half in the bag, now
Hey, now, hey, now, my lizard backbrain
I have no hands but my knuckles they all drag now
Hey, now, hey, now, my lizard backbrain
The irony is the chicks all dig my strutting
Hey, now, hey, now, my lizard backbrain
My mouth holds them still and my teeth do all the cutting
Hey, now, hey, now, my lizard backbrain
