Great news!

BooMan's tired of writing about Clinton.

All together now:

Awwwwwwww!

But what's with the "tired of" riff these guys are running? BooMan's tired, the Boiz are tired, our famously free press is tired.

Hillary's not tired. The voters aren't tired.

Why are these guys tired? Could dragging a dead Unity Pony be too hard for them?

Could dragging a dead Unity Pony be too hard for them?

Yes.

Let's take the pony out for a drag!

Yes, that has possibilities.

There must be a beating heart in that pony somewhere!

Nobody knows anything

That's what I keep telling myself. I fear this feeling of cautious optimism I have been suffering from these past few days. It's unnatural to a pessimist such as myself. And for this, I blame Obama: if the man wasn't acting as if he's scared shitless, this paranoid holdout would be assuming the worst by now.

Still, I expect his ass to get slaughtered if he's the nominee. As much as I would revel in his political destruction (Yes, I'm that vengeful), I would hate for this country to be taken out with him. I don't see how we can take one more Republican administration.

"this paranoid holdout"

rofl. great pic, thanks for the laugh.

Booman

shows us exactly what is wrong with Obama supporters. They have never bothered to examine Obama, and merely assumed that he had to be better than Clinton, and from that assumption, accepted Obama as the Savior.

Is there anyone on this blog who was strongly for Hillary Clinton in December 2006? How many of us were "anyone but Clinton" back then (ie before Obama began to get taken really seriously) because we looked at the realistic alternatives and said "well, they're all 'better than Clinton'?

I think there are two kinds of progressives now -- those that can't admit that there is something worse for Democrats than Hillary Clinton, and the rest of us.

Well, so, I'd suggest that the problem is not JUST that they can't imagine that something could be worse than a Clinton candidacy, but they're also nervous and panicked that they have fewer and fewer months to go after the (R) party. This suggests that they believe that both candidates are too weak to take on McCain without a lot of time and prep---and that having the weaker candidate sooner is better than having the stronger candidate when it's too late.

Which is not necessarily wrong considering the SCLM. It's an empirical question.

Oh, man, how low can we go....

Dead pony jokes. I know, I know, I started it. And worse, MJS and Sarah do animal rescue.

Michael Wolf isn't tired of talking about the Clintons

This is Hillary according to Wolf:

"She’s the special-interest candidate of older women—the post-sexual set."

Unbelievable. Check out Lance Mannions' take-down on Wolf's latest Vanity Fair article. http://lancemannion.typepad.com/

Oh, really?

That's a great link, Darrow. This is the, er, nut graf:

But in real life everybody is constantly and openly speculating on the sexual nature and needs and eccentricities of every rising and demanding political personality.

In fact -- and please, please let's all file this under The Department Of Don't Get Me Started -- the Obamas are totally immune from this, as are the Bush clan.

Why would that be, I wonder?

Really bad time to be getting "bored" and "tired"

Because, just as many of us had predicted long ago, the "villagers" have turned their sights on destroying Obama, now that they feel that they've succesfully destroyed Hillary.

The Unity Pony Boiz better man-up soon, because they have a "real" war coming their way. If they think fighting against Hillary's supporters was fatiguing, wait until they have to defend Obama from the MSM.

Here's Mista Kurtz' latest:
------------
Why the Press Turned on Obama

By Howard Kurtz
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, May 5, 2008; 9:07 AM

The man who tried to soar above politics has been brought back to earth by the same media organizations that helped fuel his spectacular rise.

After more than a year of mostly glowing coverage, Barack Obama is having to defend his relationship with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, his temerity in not sporting a flag pin, even his arugula-loving, bad-bowling, let-me-eat-my-waffle persona that fostered what Newsweek has branded "the Bubba Gap.""The media have decided to get tougher on Obama," says St. Petersburg Times media critic Eric Deggans. "There was so much talk about him getting such an easy ride that some journalists got tired of it."
...
What loosened those restraints, says Greenberg, was the media's conclusion that Obama had virtually wrapped up his nomination fight against Hillary Clinton. "It's backwards -- the toughest scrutiny should come while it's still a real fight," he says.

About that Michael Wolf article

in Vanity Fair...

I can't believe someone actually published this in a magazine.

"She’s the special-interest candidate of older women—the post-sexual set. She’s resisted by others (including older women who don’t see themselves as part of the post-sexual set) who see her as either frigid or sexually shunned—they turn from her inhibitions and her pain."

All I can say is WOW.

So now you need to be an old hag and have a dried up ***** to vote for Hillary. Can anyone tell me if this gentleman is a "progressive"?

Bowers "movement" is sh*t

That article makes no sense, especially its conclusion.

It's like a term paper scraped together the night before it is due. It incoherent.

To put it mildly.

LOL

Did you say "Bowel Movement"?

Cult of personality. These OFB folks are seeking something to believe in, and things like structure and coherence don't matter. If you look for them, you'll always be frustrated - there is no there, there.

Think of them as "trendies" following whatever is hot, now. They would have been for FDR, they were for Reagan, many of them were for GeeDubya when he was shiny-new, now they're for Obama. It appears inconsistent to those of us who form our own moral/political structure and then select which ever politician comes closest. They do it the opposite way; select the politician who is the hottest, most happening personality and then adapt their belief system to fit.

Clinton, middle-aged in her pants suit, is not hot. Just the way it is. Barak Obama is happening, the hip, rap-referencing imaginary black friend they all wish they could hang out with, so they can feel slick and hot and happening too. Sad, but there really is nothing more to them than that. OFB are Trendies.

Compared to McCain, however, Clinton is relatively more of a happening thing. I expect that if the election turns out to be Clinton vs. McCain then some of the trendiness will transfer to the idea of a First Woman President; certainly a more exciting story than Yet Another Old White Guy.

Don't give up on the OFB just yet; once the herd starts to whirl in a new direction, they'll be clambering to get back out front - that's what opinion leaders do, you know.

totally incoherent-

this is very related--

http://blogs.cqpolitics.com/trailmix/200... -- Obama's Clinton Focus Helps Her --

"...Obama’s stepped-up attacks are odd on a couple of fronts. First, this is what he did in the closing days before the Pennsylvania Primary -- and it didn’t work. Clinton beat him by 9.2 percentage points, thanks in part to last-minute deciders who did not warm to Obama’s arguments in the final stretch.

Also, it seems strange for Obama to keep talking so much about his Democratic rival while at the same time trying to convince party superdelegates that his nomination is inevitable and Clinton is irrelevant. ...
If the race is over, as the Obama camp keeps saying, why not just ignore Clinton? ...
the more he talks about Clinton on the campaign trail the more reasonable he makes it seem for her to stay in the race."

There's the logical, and then there's the proctological

Everybody seems to be running the "bowel movement" riff on this post, which isn't the best post Bowers has ever written (and he's written some excellent ones).

The OFB want Obama to be RFK.

The problem being that he isn't RFK. There's nothing transcendent about him. I see no evidence that he has been to the mountain top - well, unless someone gave him a chauffered ride up there for dinner at the top of a revolving restaurant. He is the least radical candidate to make it to the final tier than i can think of. At least, Kerry had his glory days back in the seventies and got the whole BCCI thing going. Obama has nothing.

He's a blank canvas with a lot of light shining on him and they are mistaking the reflected beams for metaphysical triumph. There is nothing in Obama for the light to illuminate - no journey, no triumphs, no failures. At least, not since college. So the light bounces back, blinds his followers and like Saul, they become obedient servants. Remember how trendy it was to sign your online name with "hussein" in the middle? Ich ein bin Hussein.

I always thought of the left as the reality based community. Wrong.

If we are the ones we have been waiting for, then we have met the enemy and he is us.

Chris should really take a long, hard look at what the far right did to the Repub party and see if he sees any corollaries between that and what the far left Obama faction, now known as the "Bower Movement", is doing to the Democratic party.

Heck I have toes and nosehairs crossed too.

NC will be a win for Hill. (chanting, sacrificing tiny ants, and um...putting pins into a doll)

Ok I'll admit I do speculate on candidates sex lives, I think it's fun. I really like the idea of Hillary with her personal assistant, and heck Obama with his personal assistant too. But Hillary is far from post-sexual, whoever ran that must be either in his seventies or has never had sex with a woman older than him. She's hot...but there is something about power that is mighty potent.
The difference between myself and the pundits is, the adults they have sex with really doesn't affect how I vote /gasp*/
Somehow I'm more worried about the US being the US after their term is finished.
The net as the movement....um wouldn't that have meant Gore would have won as he invented it?

You still have to get out of the house to vote.
