Happy Birthday, John

newarchylogo

John McCay, the owner and operator of that unique and excellent blog, Archy, a man and a blog that do credit to "Blogtopia," (thank-you skippy), is approaching a birthday of moment; that's what I like to call such birthdays, it sounds better to me than seminal. (Full disclosure, I faced this particular one some years ago.)

He has let his readers know what he would like for his birthday - that 75th thousand reader hit. (HT to The Farmer)

John is an excellent writer, a true wit, and from my reading of his blog, a gentleman. If he isn't one of your regular reads, you are missing out on one of our best blogs.

Some samples as of this Wednesday: I'll bet you didn't even know that Men's Health Magazine has provided its readers of a list of the 100 angriest cities; I'm not sure I even knew there was a "Men's Health Magazine, but I should certainly have guessed there was. Well, Archy knows, and John explicates the possible reasons that Orlando, Florida came in at #1.

For an example of what I mean by "fine writing," don't pass up this "Birthday story."

John's political observations are stellar, and more often than not, funny.

So, run, do not walk, to Archy, enjoy yourself, and make one of your fellow bloggers small-scale dreams come true. Don't delay, either; I'm late in getting this up; John let his birthday wish be known on August 8th, at which point said birthday was two week hence; less than a week to go.

You will not be disappointed; I never am.
