Has The Primary Season Driven You to Drink?

BDBlue's picture

This may be the first video of any candidate campaigning that actually looked like fun. She doesn’t down the shot in one drink, but she looks pretty damned comfortable. And, of course, if she had downed the shot in one drink, we’d get rounds of “Is Hillary an Alcoholic” and Maureen Dowd’s column on how she just knew Hillary was a man.

I love it

I fell out of my chair when I saw her grab the beer. Good for her. I hope this wasn't after the Compassion Forum.

Heck, with all the BS she has to deal with

I'd need a drink too... more than one actually!

Now...

If she would bowl a few frames for us. :-)

Party Til You Puke

That's what my friends used to say before we got old and crusty, er, "more mature".

Only tyrants rig elections.

But ...

I thought we got those columns anyway! That's the point, it doesn't matter what our candidates do. At least not to Ms. Dowd.

Better than Bowling.

Agree with CL about when she went back for the beer. Awesome.

But she wore yellow at the "Compassion Forum" (you know, there is just so much wrong with that whole thing last night. I feel dirty.), so it wasn't that.

Thanks for the video. It's almost as good as bellying up to the bar myself in the middle of this awful, awful boondoggle, and saves me the calories.

Obama Mocks Hillary's Shot and a Beer

After first saying too many candidates are only giving voters "rhetoric," the Illinois senator said, "They'll promise you anything. They'll even give you a long list of proposals. They'll even come around with TV crews in tow and throw back a shot and a beer."

Here's the Clinton campaign's reponse:

Responding to Obama's comments, Clinton spokesman Phil Singer said, "With all due respect, this is the same politician who spent six days posing for clichéd camera shots that included bowling gutterballs, walking around a sports bar, feeding a baby cow, and buying a ham at the Philly market (albeit one that cost $99.99 a pound). Sen. Obama's speeches won’t hide his condescending views of Americans living in small towns.”

This is so much better for Democrats than if Obama had simply apologized and tried to move on. Now, we don't just have one elitist running for President. We have two.

Does he want to be president or just the nominee? Because painting Hillary as also being an elitist fake isn't going to help HIM overcome his stupid remarks in the GE. It may get him through the primaries, but it doesn't get him past this issue.

i think at this point we're finally

getting the real him--he could only keep up the hope/unity/change smiley bs for so long--he's worn down, and pissed, and we're seeing him for real now.

this is the guy who legally challenged every single primary opponent in IL.

this is the guy who joined a church so his clients would trust him.

this is the guy who thinks his life so far is worth 2 autobiographies.

they say Hillary felt entitled--but this really is entitlement challenged after a long period of coasting.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
