Still, the logo looks great on a messenger bag:
"The hope we all had in President Obama to lead us on a different path has not turned out as we'd hoped," said Tina Monshipour Foster, a human rights attorney representing a detainee at the Bagram Airfield. "We all expected better."

Our President visited Canada
and it seems they got the drift, and already are writing about it:
http://www.thestar.com/news/insight/arti...
"None of this is to say that Obama is Bush redux. He isn't. But the differences between the two have been greatly overdrawn. " My only question is, "closet"?
My question has been "Stealth candidate?"
FSM or ceiling cat, help us, no!
The Star article is a good summary of many of our concerns
about the Obama presidency. The writer closes with a concern I have: Obama's popularity makes working against his rightish stands more difficult to resist, and, for Canada, more difficult for people there to resist Harper's rightish moves.
Crikey.
Not what I had hoped to achieve with a Democratic president replacing the Worst President Evah!
Reactions from a cross post
Hi vastleft. I cross post at Kos and the one from this morning has already gotten some interesting responses. I updated it with the Bagram story and am still getting lots of negative feedback. For all the criticism I've made of Obama I've never had such a sharp response. Fascinating...
Dan, you'd almost think that
... the more one scrutinizes Obama, the more one is attacked.
Naturally, nothing like that could happen in the left blogosphere, so something else must be afoot, of course.

I don't think they're left. I think they're "progressives."
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." -- Mahatma Gandhi
If Gitmo residents
won't be released in the United States, then where else will they go? Why not Bagram? If they are at Bagram (the ones that are still alive anyway), then according to the Obama administration they won't be able to use the US court system anymore.
Brilliant! Probably why Bush didn't think of it.
